Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

It makes more sense for ongoing narrative if Hera's still alive. I hate to think of Cavil having his hands on the poor noodle, though.

I wonder why he cares? As a hostage for the F5? Because she's the hope of a blended future--if he didn't want one, he could just off her.

And, really, Kara will do in a pinch.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Helo I can handwave as not recognizing that she wasn't Athena, but Hera is half Cylon, she's got to have some of that wireless recognition going on.

Also, why didn't Athena scream or moan or shift, make some sort of noise? Oh god, I want to take a shower after that scene.

I'm rather scared right now, this is not going to end well. Galactica dying is getting too freaky now.

I'm looking forward to Hera kicking Cavil's ass in some fabulous way. I can't imagine that won't happen in some way. I feel like we are going to be left with a less than utterly grim and hopeless end. As much pain as he's put them through, I think RM has too much affection for the fleet to just leave it completely bleak. I think we lose the ship, though. And Mary and EJO probably get to play a heart wrenching death scene.

Somedays I think Hera is the only one with a plan. I suspect she knew that was not Athena.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

I feel horrible for Tyrol. He got so totally played, and despite some of his earlier problems (beating Calley, fr'instance) I still really like him, and now he's just screwed himself. They are totally going to find out he arranged Boomer's escape, and they're unlikely to believe his good intentions, not when he damn near killed one of the other 8s and got Hera kidnapped.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

Athena's mouth was bound.

I think Cavill wants to kill Hera to stop the breeding thing, or to use her to blackmail the final 5 into recreating resurrection.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I really wish Nicky had never been written into the show in the first place. Because the way he was written out pretty much guarantees that I'm going to feel no sympathy for Tyrol losing his imaginary daughter after fucking abandoning his REAL STILL ALIVE CHILD. Not his biologically, sure, but he was Nicky's parent for 2 years. He doesn't get to walk away from that and take any of my sympathy with him.

DH brought up the possibility that they could have left Nicky as a hybrid and have Boomer kidnap him in this ep instead of Hera. Would have taken away from Hera's special place in the universe, but wouldn't have had me thinking "Oh, fuck you Galen" during all of the projection sequences.

(Or they could have killed him off and handwaved some kind of hybrid's-don't-live-very-long-except-Hera-because-she's-special thing. Really, almost anything would have been better than the retcon they came up with.)

If Kara's dad was a Daniel, do we think Cavil sought out and killed all the existing models in addition to poisoning the replacements so they couldn't resurrect?

I think Cavil gives Hera to Simon to experiment on. He won't kill her right away until he understands what she is and how she came to be.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

I think killing all of the replacements pretty much guarantees no resurrection. So, maybe there was only one viable Daniel. And he was Kara's father.

That still doesn't explain the hallucination Kara was seeing and interacting with.

Actually, my current working theory is that a surviving Daniel rebuilt Kara using the lab that Cavil mentioned 2 eps back, and so even if she wasn't originally a hybrid, she kind of is now. The "song my dad used to play for me" might have been implanted too - she's not the original Kara so who knows if those are her original memories?
