Yes! This is the joy of fanfic, of course, or the novels. But I agree that they should do this onscreen more!
Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon
A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
Lea and I finally gave in and bought "Battlestar Galactica" Season 4.0 from iTunes. We were going to wait and Netflix it, but, we realized A.) There is absolutely NOTHING on TV this week, and B.) Lea will be gone most of the first part of January, so there's no way we could watch it together before the new season starts. We've watched through "Escape Velocity."
It's amazing at how quickly I get sucked back into it. Terribly, terribly gripping.
Oh yeah.
BSG is going to be showing the last 3 episodes of season 3 and all of 4.0 ON the 16th. Which does you no good if you actually plan on going to work on that day.

I know! I'm shocked they didn't release the DVD for Christmas.
Yeah, releasing it January 6th is just insane.
Sometimes I wish BSG had been able to draw me in, so I could join the discussion on more than the handful of episodes I've caught by accident. But here is how much it's not my show: I've never Netflixed the episodes featuring Kavan Smith despite obssessively taping every Outer Limits episode and crappy Lifetime movie that he has a cameo appearance in.
Is there more than one?
Because that would surprise me.
I think Buster made minor appearances in two episodes.
The Christmas 2008 episode of Dr. Who just finished on BBC One.
Aheming will commence later...
Thoughts on the 2008 Doctor Who Christmas Special:
t spoilers
Steampunk!Who - lovely notion. It was all very picturesque and festive - yay for that. Dervla Kirwan's always good value for money, and I had mighty lust for her frock. David Morrisey ditto, although not so much with the frock. Rosita (don't know the actress's name) was likeable enough, as was BoySidekickGuy. And the "sonic" screwdriver was HILARIOUS. Also? That whole Doctor/Not!Doctor vibe was more than a little slashy, imho, which is for the win. In terms of storytelling...well, the whole 'It's the next doctor....or is it??!!?' thing didn't really work, because it was so clearly going to be a red herring. However, it was quite charming - I'm just sorry that we'd all been spoiled for it by the trailers, because if we'd come to it cold I think it would have been much more effective.
Obviously Doctor Who is frequently - almost invariably, in fact, really quite silly. But I confess I found this episode fell at the sillier end of the spectrum, which is a shame. Also it had moments of quite awful tweeness - not, at least, any recurrance of the whole Jesus!Doctor business Rusty Davies seems so fond of, but the whole Tiny Tim Rescue scene was well nigh as cringe-inducing.
Sigh.
So - yay for the Doctor, and yay for the pretty scenery, but it wasn't particularly wonderful, as an episode. IMHO. Although I'm not immune to the appeal of Steampunk!GiantCybermanShipThing Versus Balloon, as a concept.
Oh - and Tennant did deliver that whole "....they break my heart" line in such a way as to make me go 'Aaaaaw', even though I generally kind of want to be all 'Enough with the emo, already, writer guys!' But - yeah. Bless.
Overall I'd give it seven out of ten.
