Xander: I still don't get why we came here to get info about a killer snot monster. Giles: Because it's a killer snot monster from outer space. I did not say that.

'Never Leave Me'

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

Haven't seen Fringe, so don't know if it is based on urban legends, but that is an urban legend that goes back at least to the 19th century.

I was going to mention that. It might just mean that JJ was riffing on (ripping off) a pretty obscure Dario Argento movie, in which that kind of special camera was a major plot point.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Appropriate, since the mad scientist gets the idea from an F. Scott Fitzgerald short story, I think it was.

One thing I do like about the show is the graphics they use to place the location.

Those are neat, but I also feel they're somewhat ridiculous in the way they interact with the environment. Like, one day, I expect one of the characters to bump into the giant letters.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I *loathe* the giant 3-d location tags. I'm hoping that as the series progresses they will go away.

I do believe in killing the messenger, you know why? Because it sends a message. ~ Damon Salvatore

the 3-D location tags are my next favorite thing about the show. after Joshua Jackson, of course.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I find myself hoping Abrams will employ other conventions used in Timur Bekmambetov movies, like the fast pacing and over-the-top action sequences. And Konstantin Khabensky, of course.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

The thing I like best about "Fringe" are the "going to commercial break" cards where they have blue-tinged flowers and such. Those are beautiful.

"Fuck Western ideologically-motivated gender identification!" Sulu gasped, and came.

PC - I have achieved Avatar! And you're right, it IS rather splendid. So far have only purchased 'Book One' and watched first 8 eps, but I'm liking it a lot.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

I just finished Book 2.

I received the first disc of Book 3 in the mail. Beau and I will watch it this weekend.
