Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon
A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
you might want to remind them that it's much more expensive to do billboard trucks since gas is $4 a gallon.
Have you guys bought anything besides deodorant from the Eureka hotline?
Sci-Fi has cancelled SGA.
Aw, man! I guess the SG universe had a pretty good run, all told.
Fuuuuuck.
Strikes me as a stupid decision right up there with some of SciFi's other stupid decisions, especially considering they're not going to have much more BSG in the future, either.
Wasn't it doing better in the ratings this year compared to last? "You're showing improvement and generating more revenue. This runs counter to our business model, and must be stopped at once."
Though I must admit, there's a malicious part of me that thinks there could be no more perfect time for Malozzi and Mullie to get the news than in the wake of the Torri Higginson-less episode that chucked Dr. Weir into the Big Refrigerator in the Sky.
Yeah, after BSG runs its last eps and SGA is done, they've only got me for Eureka. Which, yay, but... ah, the days of Sci-fi Friday, how I miss you.
I recently read some blog that had the new scifi/fantasy stuff for the fall season, and sciffy had a few new shows. Of course, they'd be smart to use their old strong shows as lead ins, but what do I know? And in the era of remote controls and TV recording, does a lead in really matter anymore?
It's true - I mean, I watch Middleman, but I have no idea what day or time it airs, because I just watch online. I kind of miss the fun of appointment TV, which Sci-fi Friday pretty much was for me... though sometimes it was the second airing of eps later in the night.
I do know that Sanctuary was made as a web series by some of the people from the Stargate franchise (Martin Wood included) and guest-stars a bunch of SGA people in addition to Amanda Tapping being the female lead. If it takes off enough for them to film new episodes, it'll be like a TV version of a repertory company.
