A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

(Edit: Tilda Swinton would be fabulous as well)
oooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!
Hee.
ION, have you guys heard of this show? - I like the cast AND Shaun Cassidy is the main creative guy. (Well, I really liked the cast when Toby Stephens was the lead but Lloyd Owen is also good.)
Claudia Black.
YES. this is the only female Doctor i can get behind.

I don't know. I think that she's missing a crucial element of whimsy. I mean, she'd totally kick ass, but I don't know that I've ever seen her really laugh. (which, I admit, is based on sporadic viewing of the puppet show)
Bill Nighy would totally fit with the theme of castmembers from State of Play appearing on Doctor Who.
I'd love to see James McAvoy, Phillip Glennister or David Morrissey on the show too. Not necessarily as the Doctor. (Oh, maybe the Master could reincarnate as Phillip Glennister.)

Hah, sumi! Actually, a female reincarnation for the Master is looking pretty likely, the way things were going.
Bill Nighy is another name that's frequently mentioned. I love him as an actor, but he's a bit too... louche for the Doctor, for my taste.
Carlyle is a fine actor, but I think he's too much of a David Tennant type -- small and intense and wiry.
And Scottish. As is James McAvoy, come to think of it - small, intense, wiry, Scottish. As was Sylvester McCoy. (DT is definitely the tallest of the bunch.) I don't know if they'll go there again.
I love Carlyle, but thinking about his roles in Trainspotting and Ravenous (and even The Full Monty) and then imagining him as the Doctor is a tad strange (and oddly amusing). I can't imaging the costume they'd give him, quite honestly, unless they went back to the look that Nine was sporting.
If you'd seen Claudia Black on Stargate, you would not be in doubt about her sense of whimsy. She was fantastic on Farscape, and fantastic in a totally different way on Stargate.
I thought that she was also fantastic on Dresden Files.
