Didn't explain why the remnant had no speed powers when on Earth I, although maybe the remnant figured that if he was going to die anyway, he may as well give Zoom his speed, too.

So was the guy in the first half of the season always the remnant? (I ask, as if any of you guys really know.)

I'm also very perturbed they decided that "Barry's mentor is secretly the big bad" needed to be done two seasons in a row.

That was my first thought, but the way the show's been going it's probably Earth-2 Eddie Thawne. And he's secretly a supervillain.

I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night.

This is no doubt natter in the Boxed Set thread but after seeing "OMGWTF Polar Bear" here, my daughter and I have started using that phrase in texts to each other when we don't have time for the extended rant that a situation deserves - I've never before had a phrase that expressed exasperation so perfectly.
