Yes, there is a large contingent of people at TWOp who think that Helo is joyless and self-righteous. Because he wants to do the right thing. I mean, shouldn't you think twice (at least) before committing genocide or betrayal?

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon
A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
I am somewhat neutral on Helo, but I had perceived that general consensus across the 'nets is that people love him.
I don't get the love. He seems kind of naive to me. That doesn't sit right with me as a general personality characteristic for individuals who are running across the universe for their lives.
Aw, I love Helo (and the pretty doesn't hurt either).
I think Helo makes a nice flip side of the coin with Baltar. They're both in love with Cylons, but whereas Helo has been helping her assimilate herself into the human world, Baltar embraces the Cylon philosophy/religion and is trying to make over the fleet into a subset of Cylon thought.
Ooh, I never thought of it that way! Nice observation.
Baltar embraces the Cylon philosophy/religion
He does now, but this is a pretty recent phenomenon. I'm not sure sure Baltar knows what he believes.
I am over Baltar at this point. I was so hoping that that Cylon would snap his neck and then I was all excited when I thought Roslin was going to let him die. It's sad, really, as I loved that character at one point. I find him tiresome and annoying (not in a fun way) at this point.
Glam, I've been a Baltar fan from the beginning, but, yeah, I'm not really enjoying him this season.
Super sekrit message to P-C: GF and I are rewatching Avatar from the beginning AIFG!
I'm not sure sure Baltar knows what he believes.
I think that he is a true believer now. It might have been the "miraculous" cure of the little boy, but whatever it was, he was really trying to convert Laura in that sickbay, even though he knew there was a good chance he wasn't going to make it. The attempted conversion of the centurion, otoh, was partially that belief, but mostly just Baltar trying the old mindfuck routine that he's so good at.
