Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon
A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
Was there pepper?
I seem to think I can't watch shows too close to Supernatural in premise (well, Lost Girl had radical distinctions, but when they went MOTW, it left me helpless in laughter and limp in disinterest). -t, you are excused from the exercise, but how would other viewers draw a Venn diagram of horror and urban fantasy and place Grimm on it?
I'm sure I had stuff to say about The Flash and Sleepy Hollow
Flash feels to me like they're stalling with the long game mystery, but it's so damned cute and charismatic, I'm gonna keep showing up. I worry about the Iris subplot. It's frustrating, and her recalcitrance makes me worry I won't like her soon.
Sleepy Hollow: Katrina is still not cool, good lord. Her son is playing her like a Stradivarius. I don't get her net positive.

Man, seriously. I'm tired of being *told* that she's a powerful witch, crafty spy, etc., when all we're *shown* is that she can talk through a mirror and be a handy womb for Moloch, as well as the prize in the fight between Headless and Ichabod. I'm not sure I like her enough to even want her to get some agency, though -- I'd rather she just go away.
There was not pepper, but I give them points for orchestrating the scene so that I felt the lack of pepper, if that makes sense.
I know there's been a time or two when I said to myself "Oh, that's why we should keep Katrina" but now I can't remember what they were. Pretty sure they were when she was working directly with Abby, but what she did I can't recall. Something witchy, presumably.
Really liked Iris's story this week. I mostly want Joe to tell her everything so she can make some informed decisions.

It's because she keeps charging forward, risk bedamned, even when everyone tells her there's risk and secrets. Sure, she can overpower the Clock guy, but she's relatively fragile, vulnerable, and a lot of people's Achilles heel.
I don't dislike her yet, but they better fix their Will Tippen as quick as possible.

Co-signed.

Does she know all that, though? I don't think she does. And just in general, keeping information from her does not make her safer.
Does she know all that, though? I don't think she does.
It's not like a) she hasn't been told and b) it's not common sense. I'd be hesitant to tell her myself, because she doesn't seem to grasp the obvious severity of the situation.
I keep hoping Iris will get a clue.
I am still watching Gotham and I do think it has gotten better. They are still underusing Donal Logue criminally.
I'm on Season 2 of Due South (which I started because of Paul Gross and the wolf and am continuing because everything else is nearly as good) but am wondering why the discussion (back when everyone else was watching it) was in Boxed Set. Is it just his father's ghost making frequent appearances or does it become more of a supernatural fantasy in later seasons? I'm not at all spoiler averse so feel free to give away plot details.
I think due South got grandfathered in to Boxed Set because of where the show was discussed at Worldcrossing.
I know we didn't have many TV discussion threads at Worldcrossing and doe South was discussed along with the other shows mentione in the header. If I remember correctly for continuity's sake (and I don't think there was a Procedural thread right away) dS stayed here rathere than being moved.
