When you look back at this, in the three seconds it'll take you to turn to dust, I think you'll find the mistake was touching my stuff.

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

PETER CAPALDI YAY. I'm not sure I'm a hugging person any more! There should be more round things on the walls!

That's really all I have to say. I know many people were fans of Matt Smith, but he was never ever my Doctor, and Peter Capaldi is like a bitter cold snap of fresh air. (Now we just need to lose Clara and bring in a grown-up companion, and I'll be the happiest curmudgeonly Who fan alive.)

I did not need to see Matt Smith's horrible old-age makeup again. Ugh.

Jessica, I didn't think he was. He looked normal (young) to me.

It was funny, because I was just thinking that however much I was loving Capaldi (and I was), I also sort of missed Matt Smith, and then there was his voice! And there he was! Unconventional, and I liked it .

I guess it's the first time Moffat has done both ends of a regeneration, and with the same companion, so it sort of made sense.

Capaldi was wonderful, and super Scottish, but I'm still having trouble getting my head around the fact that he is the oldest doctor starting out, ever. Older than Hartnell!

The website I sometimes contribute to has another Who piece up:

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

I am enjoying Capaldi muchly, and I like that he is really good at tweaking Clara.

Like the new version of the theme but not sure what I think about the new visuals - a little too on-the-nose.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I like the new Doctor! While I didn't dislike Matt Smith, he wasn't my favorite. (Of the new Who Doctors, that would be Nine.) Here's an article on the new credits. [link] They were mostly part of a fan project that Moffitt liked.

Compassionately intolerant

I like the new visuals, but the high pitched aspect of the new theme is super grating to me.

Favorite line: "Androids and apostrophes. I could write a book."

The first five minutes of the episode had be girded against disappointment. While the dinosaur looked amazing, it didn't really do much for the story. It seemed like, "HEY, look over here...DINOSAUR!" which didn't do a thing for me. The TARDIS being a hairball just made me sad.

Did anyone think the last scene, in 'heaven' was remarkably reminiscent of the episode with Warrior Amy? I also thought Missy might be in incarnation of the TARDIS, but she is probably a baddy of some sort.

I liked the callback to Girl in the Fireplace, but called it way too early.

eta: I didn't think anyone could supplant Tennant as my Doctor. I may have been wrong.

The lost sheep grow teeth, forsake their lambs, and lie with the lions.

Bonny, a good friend of mine has a similar theory about "Missy." My fear is that she's going to be Moffatt's take on The Rani. While I would love to revisit that character, I don't think I'd like Moffatt's version of her.

Huh. I can totally see that, Anne. Like you, I hope not!

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I have a feeling we are in for a lot of callbacks this season with all that "I've seen this face before, it's like I'm trying to tell myself something". I don't have a theory as to where that's going, but I think it's going to be a big thing.

One thing I hated...'Dopey, Sleepy, Grumpy..."

Why? Why call Strax a dwarf? The Doctor would know better, even if he isn't fully himself. He's an alien for goodness sake!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Why is that something the Doctor knows better than? I'm not sure if you're applying taste or morals or what, but he hadn't gotten any identities down right.

I liked how not comedic that was, BTW.
