Gunn: The final score can't be rigged. I don't care how many players you grease, that last shot always comes up a question mark. But here's the thing. You never know when you're taking it. It could be when you're duking it out with the Legion of Doom, or just crossing the street deciding where to have brunch. So you just treat it like it was up to you—the world in balance—'cause you never know when it is.

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I guess his lack of presence is word enough. It's just...there was this fleeting moment where it felt like representation was around the corner. Right up until the point was made that it was a prejudice free universe, so the line outing the vet was removed because it had a negative in-universe response to his sexuality.

Which just reminded me of a question to ask in another thread...

"I make mistakes, but I am on the side of Good," the Golux said, "by accident and happenchance.” – The 13 Clocks, James Thurber

Ack! I just discovered tonight that Sleepy Hollow's been playing reruns on Thursday nights. I am now kicking myself for not knowing this.

I am a woman of various inclinations and only some of the time are they to burn everything down in frustration

I like most of the not entirely sense-making stuff going on on Defiance, but the mayor just seems kind of arbitrarily nasty.

Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

So a couple of days ago, the Gotham TV show put up signs in my neighborhood that they were going to be filming. Last night they started clearing a whole block to make room for the production vehicles -- like, towing cars and stuff. But this morning, the block was empty, and none of the crew had arrived.

My neighborhood is used for various TV and film shoots constantly, and I've never seen that happen before. It's probably a sign that production on Gotham isn't going smoothly.

Yeah, that doesn't sound good. Sounds like a PITA for your neighborhood, too.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

The pilot looked like it was entirely shot on a sound stage, so maybe they all forgot they needed an actual location today?

(Also, the pilot was incredibly stupid. Truly, deeply, very, very, stupid. I'm not even sure Ben McKenzie's worried-puppy-dog face can lure me into watching any more, and I *love* that face.)

Oh, no, really? I was all set to love Gotham.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Man, Ben McKenzie is about the only thing that has me interested in it. I'll at least give the first few episodes a shot.

Because books.

The promos looked so good, though!

The writing is SO bad. Every single villain-to-be is introduced with the verbal equivalent of a giant flashing neon sign and then just in case you missed it, their actual literal name is used about five seconds later.
