Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon
A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
Whoever's the DP of this show (wait, do TV shows have DPs or is it just the director?) does a wonderful job with kinetic camera shots and unusual angles. It makes for a very dynamic-looking show. SHIELD looks quite static in comparison -- honestly, whoever initially decided to have the plane as the main base has to shoulder a lot of the blame. It makes everything look so cramped and gray.
Yeap, I did hear about that March 26 ep title. I am hoping that Felicity
would be an Oracle stand-in! Uhm, without the whole paralysis bit. And then I laugh at myself for being psyched about a Bird of Prey ep because I have not even read a single issue of comic book in my entire life. This show may get me to start though.
It makes everything look so cramped and gray.
Next week's
Sif/Lorelei smackdown in the interrogation room
from the previews looks really dumb. They barely have room to swing their weapons!
I neglected to mention this last week, but last week's credits were new, right? Because I don't remember seeing the salmon ladder in the credits prior to last week. Bless this show.
I *really* didn't need to see Slade's eye socket.
Did flashback!Slade stab Crazy Dr. Ivo, or just cut off his arm? I couldn't tell. It sounded painful, though, which is what I wanted.
Cut of his arm, I think. I saw a bloody stump. Yay?
The action scenes on the freighter were big and loud but I actually preferred the present-day scenes -- they were super-tense.
Hi, Zelenka! It sounds like we're gonna see the motley crew from ship for a few episodes? Is that preacher guy from the comics? Thomas Flynn, I think his name was?

Tell me about it. Oy.
Cut of his arm, I think. I saw a bloody stump. Yay?
Tim did, too. I got all disoriented, I guess. I suppose Slade wouldn't make it quick in this case.

I did, too. I loved Slade immediately realizing Roy had been Mirakuru-ized.
Is that preacher guy from the comics? Thomas Flynn, I think his name was?
I don't recognize him, but he could be.
Oh! Promo for next week -- there was a shot from behind of a female inmate with a blonde ponytail, wasn't there? Oh god, I want it to be Harley Quinn.
I just watched the new Agents of Shield. Are we supposed to know what GH stands for?
quester, you might want to ask that in the Jossverse thread, which is where the SHIELD discussion is taking place.
Ah! It's been so long, I'm disoriented! Thanks, Steph!
So, on Arrow -- maybe everyone else already figured this out, but it occurred to me that perhaps Slade didn't lose his eye because Ollie shot him with an arrow. Because last night we had the scene where Crazy Dr. Ivo was going to yank out Russian guy's eye, but stopped because of bonfire shenanigans. So maybe now Crazy Dr. Ivo will yank Slade's eye.
I think maybe Slade will regret not killing Crazy Dr. Ivo right off the bat. And THEN kill him. Painfully.
