Interesting that John Hurt is referred to as "the War Doctor." So he's like Doctor 8.5, so we don't have to change the numbering for everyone? And since this was potion-induced, it doesn't count as one of his thirteen regenerations?
P-C, I'm pretty sure that last bit of original canon has been handwaved/retconned/whatever into irrelevance.

Debet, that's still being vigourously debated in places like IO9, and I seem to remember a showrunner comment about it coming up to this next one.
Just got a chance to watch that. Shouldn't he have been turned into 9? Or did I miss another reality-destroying war between the Time Lords and the Daleks?
I would have sworn I had read a showrunner quote that it wasn't a thing, but I am really not at 100% today and may totally be making shit up.
Connie, Nine had just regenerated AFTER the Time War. That's why he was checking out his ears in the mirror in Rose.
