Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Because books.

It occurred to me, having seen the Game of Bones porn parody mentioned, that Sleazy Hollow might not be far behind.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Stoned or regularly incoherent, Manson didn't do himself any favors. Chris Hardwick was as close to exasperated as I've seen him.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

It's the best depiction of the opening chapters in Dracula's castle that I've ever seen.

Apart from the "origin of Dracula" prologue. I do love a lot of the scene transitions in that movie, and the low-tech, in-camera effects approach they went for.

But, yeah, love story - meh. Keanu - double-meh.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

Goodness, I've missed snarking about shows with y'all.

Dracula was bad. Pretty, but bad. Historically off the wall ... logically off the wall. Wish they'd just made up names similar but not identical to the ones in the original (or even half-decent versions of the original) and played it as a completely new version "inspired by" Dracula.

I saw "Bram Stoker's Dracula" and kind of liked it (also pretty); I was discussing it with a friend and she said it was soft-core porn ... she never did answer my question about what's wrong with soft-core porn.

And, in regard to Sleepy Hollow, one VERY IMPORTANT point has been addressed. Also - the man has spectacular posture.

Very true.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Also - the man has spectacular posture.

He had to have the costumer sew in rigid bits along the shoulders and spine, at least for a while. (Like the Lipizzaner riders do when they first start out.) Watching makes me want to do that, since I always feel like I'm slouching.

Please tell me you're talking about a repeat, because I thought Sleepy Hollow was preempted last night.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Please tell me you're talking about a repeat

Wait, what??? I thought they were talking about the last episode from two weeks back.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Whenever I see Ichabod in his period clothes in the 21st century I think, "You're wearing clothes that have been buried for more than 200 years! Eew."

That'll work too, but they were talking about riding, so I don't know. I'm just in "don't want to miss a new episode!" paranoia.
