So far I'm enjoying Wonderland. I'm not all that bothered by bad CGI. The special effect budget is what it is, and normally if the best thing about the show is the CGI my attention will wander quickly anyway. (Rare exception: Fantastic Planet where the imaginative animation more than made up for the Meh script.)
Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon
A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
Re: Sleepy Hollow
The Roanoke colonists spoke early modern English, the same English found in the King James Bible. Also, there's really no mystery about where they went.
But this is so batshit crazy, I sort of love it. I also love that Ichabod is clearly Sherlock Holmes's ancestor in some way.
Old English sounded really Germanic, huh? Unless they're just making that up.
Old English, the language of Beowulf, was a close cousin of Old German. Middle English, the language of Chaucer, kept some German-like pronunciation. For example, enough ended in that strangled Germanic K. IIRC, the scholarship that determined how Old and Middle English were pronounced, based on things like rhyme schemes, post-dates Ichabod.
Also, there's really no mystery about where they went.
There's a point at which one needs to let an alternate universe be alternate, or you'll strangle it.
I think you mean universe, lady.
They really don't even bother with the Scully box, do they?

Ha!
They really don't even bother with the Scully box, do they?
The best they can do is attached to her feet. Ouch.
The Scully box?
A box to get the shorter character tall enough to be in the same frame with the taller character.
Named after Dana Scully, because Gillian Anderson is like a full foot shorter than David Duchovney.
