Their version of the devil kind of grew on me. I love Last Temptation scenarios, though.

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon
A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
Yeah, I think what bothered me is that he seems just too small for "The Devil". Creating werewolves and vampires while we create concentration camps and nuclear weapons? I'd be more on board with the same plot if he'd just been a powerful demon. And I should not be worrying about this. He is a goddamn McGuffin. But for some reason it bugs me a lot.
Eh, we saw a post-ritual powered-down Devil who'd been trapped in a human body who still racked up a pretty good body count. The smallness worked for me - kind of reminded me of the recovering demons on Reaper who were rebelling against hell by performing small acts of kindness, which I loved even as I understood that it was not dramatically interesting enough to keep in the forefront of a TV show.
I was more annoyed by the unnecessariness of Hal being an Old One or whatever. I have no idea what the point of that was supposed to be. But I can ignore it just fine.
I'm into S3 of Farscape now. I kind of wonder if the two Crichtons in different places development was a cost savings thing. That way the only actor on the call sheet EVERY day was Browder. Anyway, I'm past the only real spoiler I knew (the departure of Virginia Hey) and I didn't even know the when or how of that.
I never even considered a cost thing so much as a "We can get away with this??!?!?!? YES!!!!" thing. I loved having the two Crichtons running around.
h, we saw a post-ritual powered-down Devil who'd been trapped in a human body who still racked up a pretty good body count.
Yeah, but I guess that is what I have trouble with a low powered Devil. The Devil is suppose to be really high powered. And I can see trapped, and having to evil in petty non-powered ways, like tying shoe laces together. But I have trouble with "just enough power to kill people in the one hotel", but no more. And yeah, Hal being an "old one" is as silly or more so. For some reason the Devil thing bugged me. Your random difficulty with suspension of believe not only may, but will vary.

Isn't everyone else on contract and being paid for appearing in that episode anyway>
It depends on the contract. But halving the days of makeup for half the cast was probably not a small thing.
They could save money on supporting cast. But as far as I know, regulars aren't paid by the hour, they're paid by the season or by the episode. Crew's gonna be different, tho.
Right, I'm thinking about crew. I should've been more specific about that.
