Much obliged. Here's the full version with audio: [link]
Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon
A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
Hee!
I didn't know one of the showrunners was openly gay - cool.
Sterek -- ick to the abbreviation, but at least the actors have genuine chemistry and witty charm.
Middleman scoop! If the show had gone on, Wendy would have become the new Middleman, and her apprentice would have been...her father! Who, of course, was also a Middleman and had been sent by O2STK to protect an alien culture (Javi described the Middlemen as basically Green Lanterns). He was sent as relativistic speeds, however, so when he returned, he was actually younger than Wendy. This was something not even his writers knew. Margaret Dunlap gasped beside me.
FlashForward scoop! If the show had gone on, the blackout in the finale would have been people seeing different points in time, from a few seconds to a hundred years. And the blackouts would recur at a quicker rate. The first one was nine months later, so the next one would be in six months, and it would finally come to where there was one in three days...and in that one, everyone saw black but 17 people (including Olivia), who then banded together with Lloyd Simcoe to send a message back in time or something and then they create some sort of time paradox where they find out they sent the blackout-predicting computer back to themselves or...something.
Sarah Connor Chronicles scoop! Er, Josh Friedman is very tight-lipped and Ian Goldberg couldn't really say anything that wasn't already implied in the finale, except that John Henry is definitely running around the same future timeline as John Connor.
That Middleman scoop is incredible.
Man, I sob for a show that won't ever be.
except that John Henry is definitely running around the same future timeline as John Connor.
But where was Cameron? Is? Will be?
SIGH.
That Middleman scoop is incredible.
Man, I sob for a show that won't ever be.
I couldn't have said it better myself. I may need to re-watch. I loved that show!
Ian didn't mention Cameron but did say that John's relationship with Allison would be a big part of it. He also couldn't confirm Sarah's status.
For some reason I'm salty there's no Journeyman scoop. PC, what's wrong with you?
I never actually saw Middleman, but I like how Javi is willing to spill on what would have happened next with his shows. (I remember his laying out the end of Jake 2.0 in great detail back in the day.)
I know different creators have different views on that sort of thing. Some want to get the information out there, some (such as Joss) like to hang onto it in the hopes of using it for some continuation in a different format and others (like Greg Weisman) simply don't want to dwell on the past and/or feel a mere description wouldn't do the story justice.
ETA: I don't think any of the views is wrong or right, but obviously I like finding out what would have happened when something I was invested in ends too soon. But I don't begrudge creators that don't want to just put it out there.
I never actually saw Middleman
It’s seriously worth seeking out.
