Wash: Don't fall asleep now. Sleepiness is weakness of character. Ask anyone. You're acting captain. Know what happens you fall asleep now? Zoe: Jayne slits my throat, and takes over. Wash: That's right. Zoe: And we can't stop it.

'Shindig'

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Art Crawl!!!

Man, my cable went out and I got no Eureka.

Some sort of SG-1 rumor here.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

I fully support blind speculation! Or semi-blind. Whatever.

Astigmatic speculation?

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Blind drunk speculation sounds more fun.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

That was the Eureka I've been missing!

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

Zane was totally being a dick with his "decide now". But Zane is the dick, Jo wants so I'm glad she decided to kiss him and keep him.

Lost girl: they do some things right. I like how they made it clear (without saying explicitly) that Baba Yaga curses girls invoke on someone they love, then trade the repeal of the curse only for the girl submitting as slave and dinner. First is was made clear that the cursor must have an emotional connection to the cursed (which I'm pretty sure translates to love him). Then the other girl who talked to Kenzie had also cursed someone she loved, and presumably ended up Baba Yaga's clutches as a swap.

One more point: if Kenzie does stuff like invoke Baba Yaga when drunk, that is a sign of spectacularly bad judgment about what to do combined with amazingly good ability to execute the bad decision. She needs supervision from someone adult, responsible and sober when drunk. Bo never qualifies on two of those criteria. And she she tends to get drunk with Kenzie, often does not qualify on the 3rd when Kenzie most needs supervision.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Typo,

It was at this point in the series that I thought Kenzie had a real, serious drinking problem and the shit stopped being "funny" for me.

I don't usually defend Zane, but I do think he had a right to call the question in the face of Jo's ambivalence. It's actually a more mature behavior than his usual "c'mon, be my girlfriend, you know you wanna!" approach.

I have to agree - what's dickish about not wanting to be indefinitely strung along?

Yeah, I tend to agree on that. It's hardly Zane's fault that they're the victims of that time-travel switcheroo: his lived experience has been that Jo has been very inconsistent (to be fair, not without reason).

My feeling though that the deadline should not be "right now". How about a week, or even a day. A deadline is not being dickish. 'out of time, decide this minute' is.
