Sweet lumpy minion, you're the only one that understands. Probably 'cause I haven't sucked the brain out of you yet.

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I have no idea if it's just you--like I said, I've never watched the show, so how could I have a clue?

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

I've always heard fill the mouth with salt and stitch it up. Hanging does seem to be a singularly unfortunate and symbolism-charged choice of destruction method, if it wasn't intentional.

I only know how to kill movie zombies, which involves fucking with the brain/brain stem in some way--head shot, decapitation, other gestures of that ilk.

I don't know what lore suggests.

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

The questin about zombie lore was rhetorical. Bascially I don't think there was a good reason for the choice.

Pre-romero movie lore had a number of ways of killing zombine, as Matt say decpitation and filling the mouth with salt. Also sliver bullets. I'm pretty sure the silver bullets at least were just made up/stolen from werewolf movies.

I haven't trusted science since I saw the film "Flubber."

We are catching up on The Walking Dead, and I am already spoiled (husband is not), but I cannot BELIEVE how shitty the gender roles are on this show. They actually had someone argue that they should leave the menfolk to the fighting, and the women should just be doing the cooking and cleaning.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

right? between that and T-Dog they really have hit almost all of the stereotypes.

all they need is a homicidal gay man and trifecta.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

I'll ever so slightly defend Lori on this -- under stress, some people revert to gender stereotypes (which kinda explains a lot about the Republican party right now) as a source of comfort and "rightness". I think that's where she was coming from.

I remember the Nightstalker series as being rather funny. But remember, it was a rather lone example of its genre at the time... (What year was Night of the Living Dead released again?)

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

So there'd been enough time for Romero's "zombies" to get accepted as the canon mythology.
