Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

That Last Unicorn shirt is great.

Since I'm working at home today, I thought I'd check out Fringe over lunch. Maybe not the best timing. Still, so far it's interesting.

It goes from "interesting" to Very High HSQ near the end of Season 1. I really enjoy it.

"And to be clear, I am the hell. And the high water."

Calli, if you can get to about 6 episodes in, you will be hooked. It is kind of "WTF is going on" for a few episodes, then blam!

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

I thought I'd check out Fringe over lunch.

I dearly love Fringe but I'd caution you about watching it while eating. It is frequently very, very gross.

Oh, indeed, this is true.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Fringe and Bones are tops on my "do not watch while eating" list.

Ahhh, S1 Fringe. The first few episodes are fairly pedestrian, but it's really rewarding as you watch more. I think the first ep that made me really sit up and pay attention was "In Which We Meet Mr. Jones", which is the seventh ep, mostly because we get more info on mythology and because Jared Harris is so good in the guest starring role. (Also: extremely gross metallic parasite!) The one that really hooked me in was "Bound", because Olivia is OMG SO FUCKING AWESOME in that episode. It's still one of my favourites.

OK. I thought the first couple of episodes were good enough, but nothing special. I'll get the next few discs and keep watching for a while. Thanks!
