Calli, if you can get to about 6 episodes in, you will be hooked. It is kind of "WTF is going on" for a few episodes, then blam!

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon
A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
teaser for season 2 of The Walking Dead.
I thought I'd check out Fringe over lunch.
I dearly love Fringe but I'd caution you about watching it while eating. It is frequently very, very gross.

Oh, indeed, this is true.
Fringe and Bones are tops on my "do not watch while eating" list.
Ahhh, S1 Fringe. The first few episodes are fairly pedestrian, but it's really rewarding as you watch more. I think the first ep that made me really sit up and pay attention was "In Which We Meet Mr. Jones", which is the seventh ep, mostly because we get more info on mythology and because Jared Harris is so good in the guest starring role. (Also: extremely gross metallic parasite!) The one that really hooked me in was "Bound", because Olivia is OMG SO FUCKING AWESOME in that episode. It's still one of my favourites.
OK. I thought the first couple of episodes were good enough, but nothing special. I'll get the next few discs and keep watching for a while. Thanks!
Yes! Vonnie is right. It is the 7th!
Yeah, I watched the first few episodes, stopped, then came back at some point - possibly not until S2 - and it was like I was watching a different, and really cool, show. Now I want to go back and watch from the beginning.
Oftentimes it's the SF/fantasy shows that take a couple of episodes to hit their stride and from there it's real different ball of makebelieve wax. I think it often takes that long for the writers, actors and directors to get used to the concept(s) and start running with them.
It's a shame that more shows don't get enough time to make the transition.
