A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
Sanctuary seems to be running a series of bottle episodes to make up for all the SFX they lavished on the Hollow Earth episodes. And I found last night's to be pretty boring, actually. Moar Tesla, pleez?
This. Absolutely this.
I agree that the Magnus bottles are generally good but that, without the spark of Druitt or Tesla, the rest of the cast is pretty pale. I love Henry, but even he can't carry the whole scooby gang.
The Hollow Earth arc was pretty to look at, but honestly, the quality of the stories slid significantly from Big Bertha on.
Also, they keep throwing out tantalizing stuff and then seemingly forgetting about it. The Biggie & the Priest storyline seemed like it might be good but that bad guy vanished behind his diabolical smile never to be seen again.
Just seems a waste...and one that is unlikely to hold my attention for much longer...which makes me sad.
I just finished season 2 of Fringe (minus the bonus season 1 ep I'll get to eventually). Holy shit, I LOVE how fearlessly insane this show is, and yet it's incredibly internally consistent, unlike a couple other JJ shows I could mention. I'm a bit awed actually. And sorry I didn't start watching out of the gate.
I'm inclined to give Pinkner and Wyman the credit for that. I think the two of them have been the showrunning team from the start of season two. Kurtzman and Orci stepped away at the end of season 1.
The Fringe promos have been killing me. Tease, tease, tease! Based on this and the remaining episode titles I have theories that I desperately want to discuss. I'm so not happy that I'll be working Friday night.
Discuss your theories, woman! Maybe in spoiler lite though.
Oh, my. Yes, discuss! Is that an aired promo? We can talk about that, yes?
I don't want spoilers though! I only found out the episode titles by accident. Same thing happened to me with Castle.
From reading the thread description, it seems that episode titles for unaired episodes are allowable here.
Oh, whitefont. Right. I'm in tech, but if I get a few moments I'll try to put my thoughts together.
I thought I just posted a response, but it didn't go in here. Oops. Anyway - speculate away; I got no spoilers to accidentally spill.
Okay, long day so here's the short version. Random thoughts may or may not connect to one another.
The remaining episode titles are
The Last Sam Weiss
and
The Day We Died
. I think both episodes are the finale; one from the point of view of the blueverse and one from the point of view of the redverse. I fully expect the final episode to be utterly gut wrenching and end with the possibility of the Observers stepping in with some sort of re-set. I don't know exactly what that would mean for S4, and I'm very wary of the idea of a JJ re-set. I take comfort, however, in the thought that JJ may be approving the route but he's not steering the boat.
I'm fairly certain that Sam Weiss is one of the First People. I have no idea what that ultimately means or in what way he is untrustworthy. I sort of vaguely wonder if Peter is also a First Person, just without the memory of previous incarnations. Who knows, maybe Olivia is, too. Maybe everyone is an incarnation of a First Person and only Sam carries the collective memory of the original society. (helloooo tangent) Anyway, the whole
faith, ability, destiny
thing kind of gets my synapses all atingle.
I doubt we'll hear much more about him this season, but I still wonder about Bell. We've seen self-sacrifice from him, but all the info we've heard about him when he wasn't around was about founding ZFT and starting the Cortexiphan trials basically to build an army for this war between universes, then designing shape shifters and weapons for the red side. And he's somehow connected to Sam Weiss. I think it could be argued that his crimes/sins/whatever are much worse than Walter's. Even at his worst, Walter is acting out of love.
Those are my sleep-deprived ramblings. If I get a chance tomorrow, I'll try to check in and see how far off the rails I went with this post.
