A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
For Epic!!
I totally saw Atlantis High too. It really did make The Tribe look like art, which is, uh, saying something.
Patsy is totally forgettable, you're right, but I really wanted to join this RPG and she was the only open character at the time. So I made her as interesting as humanly possible. I found Mouse cute and often marveled at how her acting was better than a lot of the kids twice her age, I thought. And Patch was also supremely nerdy, blond, and in love with Dee, who wins my award for worst outfit in all 5 seasons. They were both only in season 4, I think.
You are definitely not wrong about the abundance of pretty men in the cast.
Now that I think about it, the episode I stumbled upon initially must have been season 2 or 3, but it was Lex and Tai-San arguing about their wedding and my two thoughts were 1: These two seem awfully young to be discussing marriage plans, and 2: WHAT THE HELL IS WITH THE MAKEUP.
I also have a ton of episodes on tape in a box in my closet. And you have bloopers! Neat. I think I watched them all on youtube, and I remember them being fun.
In other news, I am still horribly distressed from last night's Doctor Who viewing. I really need to stop allowing fiction to turn me into such a mess.
I just watched the "Doomsday" episode of Doctor Who and here I am blubbering like a baby.
Yeah, that happened to me.
Doctor Who
seems to know what buttons to push to get me to cry.
IODWN, Verity: Men, Bitched and Daleks
The short film about Verity Lambert and her struggle to get Doctor Who made is now available to watch online.
As we reported last month the film was written by Thomas Cowell and Joey Guy who are film students from the University of Central Lancaster.
London, 1963. Verity Lambert, the woman in charge of the BBC's new children's show, is facing somewhat of a struggle. Not only has she got to make a TV show with the entire scope of time and space (on a small budget), but she also has to face bitchy co-workers and arrogant male peers.
"Verity" shows how she fought for the Daleks right to exist on TV, battled against jealous co-workers and ended up triumphant with a national success on her hands.
Haven't watched it yet.
IODWN², I watched the first Dalek episode (from 1963?) the other day. It was fun! Although early on the Daleks don't seem terribly into the idea of Extermination yet. Later in the episode the Daleks finally mention Extermination, and I was all, "About fucking time." These Daleks were easily defeated (at one point they threw rocks at the Daleks and climbed on top of them and grabbed the domes). Also, I can see io9's point about the episodes with lots of parts to them - this one had seven 22-minute parts. The sixth was called "The Ordeal," which I'm guessing refers to what the audience goes through. It's 20 minutes of spelunking!
Oh, and if you rent the DVD, check out the documentary on the creation of the Daleks.
I do wonder what Dr. Jenner told Rick... his best guess where to head? That the walkers would probably rot within the year? That North Korea was behind the virus?
That his best friend and his wife were having an affair and he tried to rape her?
I don't think best friend would have made it clear of the building in that case.
My guess - that she's pregnant, and by the timeframe Rick knows he's not the dad.
Also, Dale totally made me teary.
My guess - that she's pregnant, and by the timeframe Rick knows he's not the dad.
This was my guess. Blood tests. Yeah.
My guess - that she's pregnant, and by the timeframe Rick knows he's not the dad.
Ooh, I didn't think of that!
zuisa!
Patsy is totally forgettable, you're right,
Actually, I never much liked her - a little bratty, changing loyalties...but thinking about it now, however much later, she was really a bit of a pragmatist - she was little, she joined up with people to try to keep safe, then she totally came through as a spy in the end. She's really got more layers than I think I gave her credit for on first watch.
And Patch was also supremely nerdy, blond, and in love with Dee, who wins my award for worst outfit in all 5 seasons. They were both only in season 4, I think.
I remember Dee (you're right about the atrocious outfits, every last one, and talk about Thick Accents!) and now you talk about him I remember who Patch is, but I can't picture a face. I seem to remember liking the character.
You are definitely not wrong about the abundance of pretty men in the cast.
I'm sayin' - Lex was never a favorite character (selfish little bastard), but easy on the eyes...Bray, Jay...there was a lot of pretty there.
I'm pretty sure I found them early in Season 2 (before that particular wedding), but yes, that would be my reaction as well.
In other news, I am still horribly distressed from last night's Doctor Who viewing. I really need to stop allowing fiction to turn me into such a mess.
I hear you. I couldn't remember the episode from the name so I looked it up and got all choked up from reading the recap. Love my Doctor!
Did you people know there was a Eureka Christmas special on tonight??
Right after the Warehouse 13 special?
