A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

New Who (UK): Creeeeeeeeepy! Especially the decaying faces of the angels -- man, and I thought those things couldn't get any scarier! I'm a little unclear on why exactly all those people are there or why they're going after the angel on the ship, but maybe things will be made clearer next week. And we're back in the 51st century again? Well, I guess we'd have to be, if that's River Song's time.

Things I liked: the Doctor biting Amy, the line about Virginia Woolf, the needle-in-a-haystack bit. The reveal about the angels all around them. Scared Angel Bob! Aw!

This season so far still feels a bit like a rehash of the last few seasons -- repeated characters, enemies, even some of the lines in this episode sounded like echoes of dialogue from episodes past, especially between River Song and the Doctor. I find myself wishing they'd branch out a little more. But, on the other hand, I like revisiting the weeping angels (unlike the Daleks, who are entirely played out, IMO), and I like that we're getting to see a very different side of River Song.

I am the fly who dreams of the spider

Is there a reliable source to watch the Doctor Who Confidentials?

Who episode 4: this was a definite behind the sofa job, but I do have one criticism. I thought the Angels couldn't even move when they can see each other, hence the face covering and the loneliness. Then why were the approaching from all sides in the caves? I do hope they retcon that one away next week .

Otherwise great stuff. I wonder when the Doctor is going to warm to River Song, at the moment she mostly just gets on his nerves, I think. Must be tough to get to know someone if you're already aware you're going to marry. And I do love the cheek of saying that nearly 50 years of Tardis noise comes from him leaving the brakes on. You just know half the audience was saying "I love that noise!" along with the Doctor .

Really liked Amy this week, have completely warmed to her, she really is good (like the Doctor says) .

Woe to the fucking wicked.

Fiona, if it was dark, then they couldn't see each other either, maybe?

Yes, but in Blink in the basement after the Tardis dematerialised it would also have been dark, at least once the lightbulb blew, but I assumed that the Angels would stay frozen because they were all facing each other.

(Nobody tell me that they wouldn't or I may never sleep again) .

Compassionately intolerant

In retrospect, Fiona, I think you are right. Huh. Must rewatch.

A turkey in every toilet -- only in America!

Fiona, the issue in Blink of what would happen once the lightbulb blew, is something that was mentioned here at the time. I assumed that they would be free to move, but I think it's an open question.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Why exactly was there current to a basement light in a residence that had been sitting abandoned for who knows how long, anyway ?

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

I just watched The Beast Below. I really thought I wouldn't like 11 as much as 10 or 9. I highly doubted the stories would be as engaging in this new season. I'm here to say that I was wrong.

Yes, I think I remember the discussions around Blink.

OK, I will try to keep an open mind about massed Weeping Angels moving in the dark .
