What day does Chuck premier?
Two-hour season premiere Sunday, January 10th [link]
Doyle ,'Life of the Party'
A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
The unaired season 1 Fringe episode will be shown on Monday January 11th.
Okay, I loved EoT and wonder, if Wilf is part TimeLord than why couldn't Donna integrate the timelord stuff better?
My theory is that the end of time is also the beginning of time and that's why the TimeLords come back. .. thus making 11 also 1.
Thanks for the Fringe info, ita - I will make sure that Tivo gets it. (I just checked and my tivo doesn't have netflix streaming ability - I am sad.)
BTW, the Doctor's throwaway about how "the nickname no longer fits", regarding Good Queen Bess. The nickname he refers to is (of course) The Virgin Queen. Is this the first time they've been that explicit that the Doctor has sex with humans? Also wasn't the "nickname" just a way to be polite about her unmarried status. Didn't Elizabeth actually have a number of lovers, possibly starting at an age and in circumstances where her ability to give and especially to withhold consent were highly questionable.
I thought EoT was a bit hectic, but so was The Master, so I can see why. I will need to watch it again before part 2, which I will be seeing late, because I'll be travelling next weekend.
There's a twitter movement to join the Master race by changing your icon to John Simm. If I were a tweeter, I totally would. John Simm from Tehran. Way to invalidate a database.
Sumi, you know I forgot to check if my TiVo has gotten word of it. Thanks for the heads up.
Well, the first doctor had a partially human grand daughter.
And yes about The Virgin Queen nick name.
Also, my friend Sandy who has watched Doctor Who forever thinks that the lady that Wilf keeps seeing is the "White Guardian" and that she exists to counter-balance the Master somehow. She wasn't clear. But perhaps the Doctor and the Master destroy each other to end time and bring about new time.
Is this the first time they've been that explicit that the Doctor has sex with humans?
It depends on how explicit you want your explicit to be. I mean, the odds that he didn't sleep with Madame de Pompadour are pretty low.
At least before he ran off to find the Master, I thought his entire attitude screamed "Fuck the rules!" and that the line about Good Queen Bess was meant as another example of him no longer following his own rules or anyone else's.
What was the exact line?
::googles::
Something like ... “Got married! That was a mistake. Good Queen Bess. And let me tell you, her nickname is no longer, er, anyway...”
Savvier minds than mine have pointed out that this was maybe why she was mad at him at the end of The Shakespeare Code.
