A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.
Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.
Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.
Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.
This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.
That's a bad episode to have less than 100% attention while watching, IMO, because there is a LOT of stuff going on, most of it messing with 6's head.
Yeah, because they have to keep re-brainwashing him! Without damaging the tissue.
I find the changing No. 2s interesting because the citizens of the Village seem to behave as if the current No. 2 has
always
been No. 2. They already have wonderful signs with his face on them, or they will make all sorts of art with his visage. They have this weird blind loyalty and devotion to whoever holds the position.
I find Dance of the Dead particularly dense like that as well - very easy to lose your place.
Yeah, I drifted off during the trial and then No. 6 was running screaming away. I still don't know what was up with the evil fax machine in his apartment, though. That didn't seem to connect with anything.
All fax machines are evil. It's in their nature.
I think my problem with The General is that it turns into a Star Trek episode.
But Many Happy Returns & Free For All are among my favorites. Helo's "escape" from the Cylons in 33 always reminded me of the end of MHR. 'Cause, well, it sucks for him... but it's also pretty funny.

Ha!! It totally does. You're right.
But Many Happy Returns & Free For All are among my favorites.
I always forward past the credits (but watch the post-title credits with the new No. 2), and I wished I'd watched them for MHR so I could properly recognize his car and his house. (In "The Chimes of Big Ben," Nadia claimed the Village was in Lithuania, but in MHR they calculated it to be around Morocco. We already know Nadia was lying, but I'm surprised that they would actually reveal the location of the Village. Was there something I missed that implied that they might have been flying him NOT to Morocco?)
>“The original says we must assert our individuality: ‘I am a free man,’ ”he said. “But one thing that interests me is that perhaps we have become too individualistic.”
FAIL.
An anti-prisoner could be interesting. There are problems with the concept of the lone unbending uncompromising hero that can develop into totalitarianism in its own way. For example a story where the Prisoner, and the hiearchy battle it out, and then at the end it turns out there is a rebellion of faceless minor characters who were able to organize an escape while glorious leaders were distracted by fucking with the Prisoner's head could make for a good mini-series - much better than the current AMC remake which wastes some really good acting and art direction.
R.I.P. Edward Woodward. :-(
The first episode of The Prisoner I ever saw was "Living in Harmony." (The Western)
To say I was confused is an understatement.
ETCorrect title.
I haven't seen tonight's eps, but so far I'm really digging the break-him-with-Stockholm-Syndrome methods that this Number Two is using. As much as I loved the break-him-by-interrogation-and-random-druggings of the original, I'm glad they're not trying to recreate that. (Though I am pretty sure everyone in The Village is being drugged all the time - there's probably something in the wraps.)
[Also, The Village still reminds me of Roosevelt Island. Or rather, Roosevelt Island still reminds me of The Village. It's creepy.]
I can't believe TV Guide managed to make Morena look even more creepy beautiful. That's some lighting. And, uh, PhotoShop, I'm sure.
