Prepare to uncouple -- uncouple.

Oz ,'Same Time, Same Place'

Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

::laughs at the idea that I might not watch every single episode in order

Oh, of course! The problem is determining which order.

The fact that fans can spend hours arguing about the correct order is a blinking neon sign that it's completely unimportant.

Heh. Yeah, I don't understand how any sort of "order" can be meaningful if there's no real continuity. The aired order is the most convenient, but I am considering the KTEH order since it is reportedly approved by Patrick McGoohan.

I'm still digging V. I feel like it's more solid and sure of itself than FlashForward. And I'm glad we get more Alan Tudyk!

Calli: My people have a saying. A man who trusts can never be betrayed, only mistaken.Avon: Life expectancy among your people must be extremely short.

The Prisoner has more of an overall arc than most of the era. But about 2/3rds are "plot of the week" (equivalent of monster of the week). Also there are some things that look like discontinuties but are either explained or retconned towards the end. (The series was short enough that I expect planned from the beginning). On the other hand, avoiding spoilers some of the things that happen at the end make zero sense in light of the rest of the show. But then again the end is pretty Dadaist or at least some sort of absurdism.

Poor Steve the Pirate. I may never be able to watch Dodgeball again without expecting him to flip out like a mammal and kill someone.

Father Jack and Erica actually have decent chemistry together, so I don't foresee myself getting off that train to hell any time soon.

True dat.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

Attention New Who fans - David Tennant's bed is up for auction.

Yeah, I am looking forward to what I have gathered is a pretty WTF-y finale.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I really don't want the priest to compromise his vows. I like a dirty priest, but I prefer it if the narrative starts off with him fallen. I don't want to see him get dirty--not on this show, anyway.]

By which I mean the 4400 priest. The other priest can be a V or a sucker. I'm good with that. I like the paranoia about who is a what--I think that the reveal of sleepers so early has a good payoff in that regard.

I'm surprised that they're waking Wash up with the knowledge that Penny (I suppose I could learn the character's names--in time) knows about the sleepers. I wonder if she will be able to continue doing her job.

I love Morris Chestnut but his fiancée is a bit of a dishrag.

Penny (I suppose I could learn the character's names--in time)

Juliet.

Penny is on FlashForward.

I don't even watch Lost. Shows how far away I am from remembering stuff. What's her name on V?

Or as I prefer to call them, "chick from Lost" and "other chick from Lost."

Erika.

Yeah. It's an oldie but goodie as far as sci-fi plot points go.
