Spike? It's you. It's really you! My therapist thought I was holding on to false hope, but…I knew you'd come back. You're like…you're like Gandalf the White, resurrected from the pit of the Balrog, more beautiful than ever. Oh…he's alive Frodo. He's alive.

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

Don't know what the Dharma initiative is. Spoiler (well not really since this is a series from the sixties was broadcast NAFDA on PBS ) the White Balloon is named "Rover". I found the idea of an electroshock/vampire balloon still scary on rewatch. But I admit it is also silly.

I think that it's a Lost reference.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

So apparently there's all sorts of controversy on episode order. Any recommendations on what order I should watch the episodes in?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

You kids with your Lost. Offa my lawn! Be seeing you!

Rover is scarier in the new version. (Still fairly inexplicable as a choice of weapon, but definitely scarier.)

The ep order on On Demand works well enough. Watch the first two first, (actually the first three) then keep watching forward, skipping if you get bored, but watch at least some of the others because there is a lot of fun. When you are ready for the end, watch "Living in Harmony" and the two part ending. The actual last episode is great. The 2nd to the last, mixed, but you need it to follow the last episode.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Be seeing you!

Since (1) I never watched The Prisoner (though I know that's a reference), and more importantly, (2) I just watched about 7 episodes of S2 Buffy over the weekend, it makes me think of Ethan Rayne.

ION -- tonight's episode of V: I have to say that the show did a good job of racheting up the paranoia, because I expected every! single! person! to be a LIZARD ALIEN! Crochety Old Priest: LIZARD! Pretty FBI Agent Who Questioned conflicted!priest: LIZARD! Auto Mechanic: LIZAR...oh, wait. He *is* a lizard.

I don't know what's creepier -- the idea of someone being a lizard, or being a sympathizer. Which, I guess, goes back to the original miniseries' Nazi allusions.

And oh! Anna's right-hand lizard guy said something about "the first uprising" -- shout-out to the original miniseries?

Sweet young blonde lizard looks so much like Charlize Theron, it's creepy.

So, I'ma stick with it for at least the next 2 episodes. Like I said, I'm a sucker for the conflicted-priest storyline. (Yes, that's seriously the biggest reason I'm sticking with it. And because Morena Baccarin is just stunning. And creepy.)

Hey, I did not skip either. But some people may not be grabbed by it, but still curious to see the end. (Actually I lie. The body switching episode made me cringe so badly I quit not very far into into it. But I watched the rest)

Kiss me, my girl, before I'm sick.

Pretty FBI Agent Who Questioned conflicted!priest: LIZARD!

This made me laugh because that actress played a freakin' CYLON in BSG. I mean, talk about "aliens with human faces among us" trope mashing against each other! I'm going to be so confused if she *doesn't* turn out to be a lizard.

Father Jack and Erica actually have decent chemistry together, so I don't foresee myself getting off that train to hell any time soon.

I would strongly caution you to not approach The Prisoner like it's a contemporary show with a season-long arc in which the characters will develop, and clues will be revealed, and mysteries will deepen but finally be resolved.

The order, honestly, is not going to make anything more or less meaningful. It's nice to watch the first episode first and the last two at the end for obvious reasons, but as far as what the show's actually about? Nothing that matters is going to be affected by continuity. The fact that fans can spend hours arguing about the correct order is a blinking neon sign that it's completely unimportant.
