Fay, I hated Owen with the passion of a thousand white hot suns. Burn Gorman redeemed the character with his performance tonight. Nuanced, evocative, subtle. Really superior.
Now, if they can redeem Gwen for me, they can perform miracles :)

Holy fucking shit. Burn Gorman is a HELL of an actor. He has managed to redeem Owen. Some fucking amazing work tonight. I'm almost overwhelmed.
Wrod. Quite a transformation there (the character, not the actor), but entirely in character. He had me in his cheering section last week when he showed the sick kid that death could be beaten. I'm curious if we are going to get backstory as to why he seems to go out of his way to act like an unfeeling wanker when he's actually incredibly empathetic.

Somebody needs to keep a list of the unhealed injuries that Owen is accumulating.
The show actually got me to gasp when Owen broke his own finger. Plus, I managed to forget that Richard Briers was the guest star, so that was a pleasant surprise (he starred in one of my favorite-est TV sitcoms of all time).
There was a rather lot of good cinematography in the episode, among its other pluses.

A Day in the Death continues Torchwoods tradition of freaking me out about death. The scene from first season still haunts me where they brought that poor guy back and he was so scared because of the "nothing."
Almost everything about the episode makes me want to use the word amazing. Burn Gorman, Richard Briers, Naoko Mori, all amazing.
There was a rather lot of good cinematography in the episode, among its other pluses.
I loved the scene in Owen's apartment when Tosh is going on and on and you start to get Owen's POV. I felt bad for both of them.

I have recently introduced Andi to The Good Life (Good Neighbors in the US). We are right now watching season/series 2.
We're watching "The Guru of Surbiton" right now, as a matter of fact.
