Boxed Set, Vol. V: Just a Hint of Denial and a Dash of Retcon

A topic for the discussion of Doctor Who, Arrow, and The Flash. Beware possible invasions of iZombie, Sleepy Hollow, or pretty much any other "genre" (read: sci fi, superhero, or fantasy) show that captures our fancy. Expect adult content and discussion of the Big Gay Sex.

Marvel superheroes are discussed over at the MCU thread.

Whitefont all unaired in the U.S. ep discussion, identifying it as such, and including the show and ep title in blackfont.

Blackfont is allowed after the show has aired on the east coast.

This is NOT a general TV discussion thread.

"We are the Goon Squad and we're coming to town...Beep! Beep!" - David Bowie, "Fashion"

So "A Day in the Death" aired tonight?

Yes it did.

Great episode.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Somebody needs to keep a list of the unhealed injuries that Owen is accumulating.

The show actually got me to gasp when Owen broke his own finger. Plus, I managed to forget that Richard Briers was the guest star, so that was a pleasant surprise (he starred in one of my favorite-est TV sitcoms of all time).

There was a rather lot of good cinematography in the episode, among its other pluses.

"What would it take to get your daughter to stop tweeting about this?"

A Day in the Death continues Torchwoods tradition of freaking me out about death. The scene from first season still haunts me where they brought that poor guy back and he was so scared because of the "nothing."

Almost everything about the episode makes me want to use the word amazing. Burn Gorman, Richard Briers, Naoko Mori, all amazing.

There was a rather lot of good cinematography in the episode, among its other pluses.

I loved the scene in Owen's apartment when Tosh is going on and on and you start to get Owen's POV. I felt bad for both of them.

All is well that ends in pizza.

I managed to forget that Richard Briers was the guest star, so that was a pleasant surprise (he starred in one of my favorite-est TV sitcoms of all time).

I have recently introduced Andi to The Good Life (Good Neighbors in the US). We are right now watching season/series 2.

We're watching "The Guru of Surbiton" right now, as a matter of fact.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Three words for Ashes to Ashes: Women in Refrigerators!!

I liked that episode, though. I like the even episodes.

We are Buffistas. This isn't our first apocalypse. -- Pix

PD fans: Lee Pace does a very nice (and very romantic) job in Miss Pettigrew Lives for the Day.

Also, the trailers before the movie included a long ad for Torchwood as part of an ad for digital cable, I think. I was having cognitive dissonance, seeing Jack Harkness on the movie screen.

Somebody needs to keep a list of the unhealed injuries that Owen is accumulating.

They actually discussed this in the "Declassified", how they're going to be careful about the injuries that they give him. They are very aware that Owen will ALWAYS have to have a bandage on his left hand from now on.

They also decided against deathlike make-up because they didn't want to inflict 2 hours of sitting in the chair on Burn every morning and wanted to let him act it instead.

Torchwood 2.10: I agree with whoever it was who said the episode wasn't scary enough. Plus all the celluloid pseudo-science didn't really hang together. The most shocking thing about it was that they really did let all of those people die, including the cinema-owning parents and the rest of the little boy's family .
