IIRC there's 40 species of "true" crows - 103 in the family Corvidae. Man my brain retains the stupidest stuff - it also retained the scientific names for the grey fox (urocyon cinereoargentus), Eastern red fox (vulpes fulvus), and that elephants have approx 21 teeth but not to remember to grab my blackberry before I left the house this morning. Stoopid brain. See I can't let it go..I need to get over myself!

Dude, my info is 26 years old... for all I know, the database they used in FF was spot on and de rigueur for today's population counts. It's just my stupid brain barfing stuff back from the depths of its lameness.

someone would have to count the birds and notice they were gone. Given the level of human catastrophe, I doubt the crow count would be first on the list.

Also, if you go to the Birdlife International, they have a lot of missing data on bird populations. Your information is not out of date.

FF: I just watched. I'm definitely liking this show, although I accidentally let last week's roll off the Tivo.

I'm glad the Nazi's initial Kabbalah thing was a red herring. I also am mildly amused at how they got played by verifying something that had absolutely nothing to do with his information; that happened after the blackout.

Anyway, predestination is such a funky concept. Even with all the different scenarios for what people saw, I think it's interesting how people would react if they saw something they thought to be a true prediction.

I mean, I'm the sort of person that dances across plazas in front of security cameras because the predictable flow of foot traffic unsettles me. I always think of Koyaanisqatsi.

So I think I am the type of person that would try to disrupt any prediction of my future, good or bad, just to be contrary. And surely there are some of those out there in the show world.
