Spike: You pissed in the Big Man's Chair? That's fantastic! Gunn: Spike, can you please turn off that warm fuzzy? Spike: What, the Lorne thing? Worn off. I just think that's bloody fabulous.

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Right, but the question is, can you get good enough interest that it's worth holding onto your money for a while and letting it earn for you, rather than spending it all at once?

Exactly. The interest rate on our auto loan is 1% and the money that we would put into savings makes 4.75%. And hey, some dealers have 0% interest rate promotions, which, if you have good credit, you may be able to qualify for.

The status is NOT quo.

Plus, if you've never had a credit card or other real loan, you need to build credit, and a car loan is an excellent way to do that.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

And hey, some dealers have 0% interest rate promotions, which, if you have good credit, you may be able to qualify for.

And then you can always pay the loan off early (assuming there's no penalty for doing so).

Shit's all sorts of different now.

I just have her email and "location". I have no idea what to do with this information. Emailing her could do nothing or it could explode all over me.

P-C : I have a half-sister from my bio-dad. I've never met her and last I knew, she didn't know I even existed as my bio-dad does not acknowledge me.

how did all this come about, Aimee?

Punishingly Intricate

wow, Aimée, that's crazy! How did you get the information, if you don't mind sharing. If it was from someone who knows both of you, could that person act as a go-between?

I have a friend who kept discovering 1/2 siblings, children her father had with different women. It seemed like every couple of years another one would pop up. I think she even found out about one or two for the first time at his funeral. As far as I know, she did manage to build good relationships with at least a couple of her sibs.

I cyber-stalked her. Found her name on the dean's list of her school in the local newspaper of her hometown. Looked on college's directory. She's about an hour away.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Whoa! Well, exclamation points all around, then.

Much as I would love that ...

Seriously, I have no idea how to proceed. Do I write her dad and say, "Hey. You ever tell her she has a sister cause I'd like to meet her now that she's of age." and go from there or do I email her and say, "Hurray! You aren't an only child! I'm your sister!" I don't have much in the way of respect for her dad, but enough for her that I want to make making contact as non-intrusive on their family as possible. I don't want to be the evil woman who fucks up her life.

I know I bored you all to death talked about this in here before, but I've never had her info in front of me like this until now.

I have no answers for you but it's totally fascinating. Not boring.

I find it hard to imagine what I'd do in the same situation.
