This is so nice. Having everyone together for my birthday. Of course, you could smash in all my toes with a hammer and it will still be the bestest Buffy Birthday Bash in a big long while.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Mmm. Love Greek food. I was just thinking how it's too bad we don't have better ethnic food in the area, and Greek is one of the things I miss.

I can take you to have goooood Greek in Cincy.

I've eaten Polish once, and a friend turned to me, gestured at the plate and said "Isn't this why they left Poland?" It's about the only cuisine I've written off in majority. Most everything else has something I like or love. Don't even want to try again with Polish food.

Oh, man! You had the wrong Polish food! (I hate when people tell me that my experience was the "wrong" introduction to said experience, and yet here I am doing it.) But -- kielbasa! And pierogies! And more pierogies! And paczki!

(My family is part Polish, so I got to eat the good stuff, not the fried lard or beef tripe. t edit Or duck blood soup, which, hand to god, my mom routinely ate as a kid. They called it "chocolate soup.")

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

I've made my distaste for Slavic cuisine known, but Poland gets a pass for the pierogis. I was there for like three days and ate at the same pierogi place three times-- it was that good.

Poland gets a pass for the pierogis.

I'm a big fan of any kind of pouch-like food: pierogis, knishes, dumplings, wontons, Hot Pockets -- you name it.

t edit Actually, a dumpling is more of a lump o' dough and not a pouch. But still yum, so I'll leave it on my list.

ita and Liese, come to Chicago!! We'll get you set up with some fabulous Polish food, and as for Greek food, well, we've got an entire neighborhood full! I was at Parthenon in August, and had some yummy lamb. And saganaki (flaming cheese--"Ooopah!") was invented here!

ALSO a pouch of sorts. Er, in that the tortilla holds in all the burrito-y goodness.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Actually, a dumpling is more of a lump o' dough and not a pouch. But still yum, so I'll leave it on my list.

I think anything that involves dough is good.

Similar to pouch food... I'm a big fan of meat and dough -- meat pies, bao, etc.
