Inara: So. Would you like to lecture me on the wickedness of my ways? Book: I brought you some supper, but if you'd prefer a lecture, I've a few very catchy ones prepped. Sin and hellfire... one has lepers.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

I am cleaning things up in this office preparatory to my leaving. The person who worked in this office before I did was a temp. I know, because her timesheets are here. As are documents with her social security number, address, and birthdate. I could completely identity fraud her.

lisah - have you checked out her website?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

That dress is hot! And I mean that in a non-Paris Hiltonian way.

Whenever I'm trying to work out what to wear to an event I hit up bluefly.com. Even if I don't end up shopping from there they make sorting and searching easy, and it helps to crystallise what might work.

Okay, dressed and off to work. Terribly exciting.

It doesn't seem to have that dress. I just love the green on green of it.

That's a good idea.

I have secured a bunch of helium filled red balloons for my act tomorrow. I hope 15 will be enough to imply 99.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I have secured a bunch of helium filled red balloons for my act tomorrow. I hope 15 will be enough to imply 99.

You could do what the Soviets would do during their military parades - they'd have squadrons of planes flying over the parade route. Then some of the planes would circle around and fly over again, giving the impression they had more planes than they really did.

So YOU'RE the one who was using my credit card to buy gas in Connecticut! I see what you did there! I am hip to your scheme!

You could go with 11, and sing "11 times 9 red balloons..."

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

One time I was at bar karaoke and someone did 99 Luftballoons in German. Pretty sure he got a standing O.

I even know your birthdate and address, but despite the many times we have shared a bed, you weren't fool enough to give me your SSN.

It's kind of weird, trying to figure out what went on with her from the paperwork she left behind. Was she just really disorganized, or didn't care, or was she fired and escorted from the building?

I get calls for her a few times a week, too. Never local numbers.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

"Friday Night Lights" gets Salon's "Buffy" award for the most underappreciated show of the year.

Yay! Though the letters were mildly upsetting.

Today is a musicy day.

1. Elvis is on Terri Gross talking about the rerelease of My Aim is True.

2. Last night we went to see the video DJ (I would need at least three whole posts to 'splain how very awesome he is. We saw LL Cool J, The Yeah, Yeah, Yeah's, The Ramones, Pat Benetar, Dirty Vegas and a bunch of others I'd never heard of- which reminds me, has anybody heard of or seen a video that's kind of 50's style line drawings and there's a moustache that flies around and makes everything pink? I keep asking the DJ the name and always forget the next morning).

3. A sample of last night:
