I'm in search of really simple sauces, for when I'm lazy. Like this one I found suggested for tossing pasta (and which'd work well for when I've bought Buitoni or some other fresh pasta):
WHITE WINE SAUCE
1/3 cup dry white wine (I used a Pinot Grigio)
2 tbsp olive oil
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
1 tsp salt
Or this to drizzle over grilled pork chops:
1/4 cup fresh lime juice
1 garlic clove, minced
1/4 teaspoon dried hot red-pepper flakes
1/3 cup olive oil
2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro
Any simple suggestions?
The bottom one is hard to go wrong with.
Another good one? (no measurements, sorry) combine one chipotle, lime juice, pepper, salt, sugar, and cilantro. Good with shrimp
For seafood, white wine + butter + parsley, maybe either garlic or garlic powder.
For pasta, olive oil, salt, and garlic. Add parmesan, romano or whatever cheese you love. Cheese not required if you have another dish for protein source. Or for healthy one dish meals, add chicken, low fat meat, or fish of your choice along with veggies of your choice. Chicken breast and mushrooms are compatible - especially with a little lemon juice and wine. I like anchovies (which is not actually a healthy choice),but I'm taking a wild guess that anchovies are on ita's "never" list.
I don't feel right in my tummy, and yet? Hungry. Bleh!
Oh, you could have some tea and perhaps a saltine.
ita, for fish - lemon juice, garlic, butter (optional flour to thicken it up)
easiest chicken marinade is bottled italian salad dressing.
sara - check your email in a sec.

Yeah, if I had a saltine. I might literally not have a white starch in my house. I was going to have steak and brussels sprouts for dinner! Bah.
My lazy chicken often involves dropping two breasts into a bag with some vegetable oil and jerk sauce, and tossing them into the freezer until needed.
My lazy fresh pasta sauce is sesame oil, chili oil, and sometimes wine.
Gar, you guess right with the anchovies.
I'm happy to say I managed about 2.5 days good (1+ days "normal") since the ER visit. I'm curled in a ball right now trying to remember how I do this, but those two days? Totally worth the copay and the two hours sitting in the cold exam room and the strange conversations I had on narcotics.
I need to get a higher bar.
