I hope you don't think that I just come over for the spells and everything. I mean, I really like just talking and hanging out with you and stuff.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

OK, I'll notice later then.

Edit: I need to start keeping a list not-here, but when I hit the Guide, it only showed my "favorites"! For chrissakes, Time Warner.

Dog is my co-pilot.

I've only seen HDTV once (at a friend's house) and there was an incredible difference. We continue to hold out, however.

OK, yeah, it's pretty crisp. But how come it's letterboxed? I don't know how to use nice things.

"I'm useless alone." // "We're all useless alone. It's a good thing you're not alone."

Theo, the computer we got from Falcon has some inside padding and is substantially quieter than the Alienware we also have. Of course, we don't have the liquid-cooled system; ours just uses lots of copper heat sinks.

As far as noise goes, from what I understand the liquid has to be cooled with fans, so it's not going to be completely silent unless you pay a fortune.

Anyway, I'm not trying to stomp all over your enthusiasm or whatever. We just went through an extensive process buying both computers. My husband is very thorough. So if you have questions about our experience, I'm happy to answer them.

Unusually and exceedingly peculiar and altogether quite impossible to describe

Jeopardy is in HD right now, on 707.

No one needs to see Alex Trebek in such crystal-clear detail.

NO ONE.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Damn, Daisy. What an obnoxious little prick.

I think he's pissed because he's trying to get us to leave for Houston at 10 am on Wednesday when we'd all agreed to 1pm. He pretty much told the rest of us that was how it's going to be. We're not doing it because it fucks with the hours scheduled, I don't have a ride at 9 am (Jon works Tuesday night), A has a son that she's got plans with, and E has 2 kids that she'd have to pay extra to a sitter for. Plus, he doesn't decide shit for the rest of us. When either boss lady tells us he's in charge, fine. Until then, suck it asshole.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

The one job I interviewed for and then said in my thank you note "Um, don't bother considering me", one of the (many) issues was when I saw the office, they had those cubes that only have token walls, and are like, waist high. I was all "Hell no". Cubes are bad enough. Faux cubes are tools of the devil.

You all should have seen the other day when I was in a meeting and the Global CFO of our Fortune 400 company was offering to show some visiting clients her cube. Nobody gets offices here.
