paperdol, I think that, when it comes to inconveniencing oneself to care for a relative/friend/neighbor, taking vacation time to care for a neighbor falls in the category of Above And Beyond the Call of Duty.
Epecially when (I totally agree with you) the person should be in the hospital, at least for a few initial days. Getting the antibiotic intravenously can really jump-start the recovery.
