Kat, feel free to avoid this question, but does this article capture the NICU experience?
I have two more words: still dizzy. Which, WTF. My inner ears are all fucked up, but not badly enough to do anything about it.
I have another two:
Not migrainey (which is why I was attempting zen--to keep it that way).
I have no idea why this is bothering me so much.
paperdol, I've had to draw those same lines with actual blood-related family members. Sometimes, you do it. It doesn't feel good but you have to.
It doesn't make you an asshole. It makes you a human being with finite physical, emotional and financial resources to spread around. Please to not be so hard on yourself for having the sense to know your limits.
My headache came knocking after the first cup of coffee this morning and hit full bore in the Sam's Club parking lot where I barfed loading the car. Then in the drive through at McDonald's picking up the kids chicken nuggets for dinner. What should I take after a couple of Excedrin? Maybe an ice pack on my neck?
Cashmere! No good. But you know that. If the idea of ice doesn't appall you, use it. Heat might work for you too--it's kinda weird that way. I'd just lie down in a quiet and dark place. Uh, with no kids, if that's an option.
So I'm pretty sure I read someplace that the sun puts out these weird rays on Friday afternoons that make it about impossible to get any work done so I shouldn't even try, right?
I so want a nap....
Uh, with no kids, if that's an option.
Not yet. DH won't be home for a few hours yet. I've got the lights off and the shades down. Kids are quietly watching tv and I'm going to kick back on the sofa while they zone out.
I'll try ice or a rice bag to see what works.
Shrift wins.
I also get to haul home the extra food from today's luncheon which I don't really want, but will take because a) sometimes I'm cheap, b) roommate might be hungry, and c) I just invited people I know who are worse off financially than I am to come over for sammiches and cookies.
I am so ready for today to be over... so I can go home and start the fraud alert and requesting credit reports process. And after that, I get to write a draft for a committee project.
I made shockingly good time getting to work this morning, so I'm going to leave any minute! YAY!!
