Can anyone think of a good educational-sounding reason to have my class cut out and glue together paper models of space observatories?

Natter 54: Right here, dammit.
Off-topic discussion. Wanna talk about corsets, duct tape, or physics? This is the place. Detailed discussion of any current-season TV must be whitefonted.
Oh, come on, people! I'm between classes. Natter!

Um, because physical and visual interaction with the subject increases retention? And space stations are cool.
I know nothing about education, can you tell?

Totally true! I just need to find a way to make space telescopes the subject.
And space stations are cool.
This was going to be my suggestion as well.
Yes. Ooh! Maybe, instead of making them take notes and do things while they're waiting for the glue to dry on their OTHER construction project! Except... what about when THIS glue has to dry? Maybe not. Oh! OH! Okay, I know what I'm doing.
I really want to mention that until this year I didn't know I could be so tense that I was physically vibrating. Like, to the point that other people could see it. I can't figure out how to work it in, though.
Perhaps something to the effect of "[shitty management practice] has caused a significant amount of stress, sometimes with physical manifestations."
OMG, hungry/hangry kitten is adorable. Strange Christmas man is not. Armchair tattoo is AWESOME, not bad. Especially if the person has a good reason for it.
Okay, this is the cutest thing ever. Little Alibelle was very thoughtful.
Totally adorable.
so close to her new job that she could walk there if she needed to. I'm jealous.
That's pretty sweet.
"I attempted to keep people informed, but their ability to process what I'd said was sometimes questionable."
Oh dear. Good luck, Strega.

Yeah, I'm guessing whoever put together the page is not aware of the reputation of the Charles Eames chair.

Clearly not. What's funny is the comments -- it's like 50% "all tatooes suck and prove your unemployable" and 50% "yeah, except that the chair is BRILLIANT". And one person who liked the back full of hair-metal band logos.
