The only thing that ever really motivated me in school was doing better than the smartypants I didn't like in the class, just to show her. So, competition?

In primary school literally nothing could motivate me, except interest in the subject. I even got suspended for lack of work. But then I am very lazy, and not working is much easier than working.

We have some Buffistas who were supersmart do-nothings in school, right? Anyone want to chime in with what could have motivated them? If anything?

Yep, I was one of those "underachiever" types. Some of the time, anyway.

Math was always my best subject. Usually I enjoyed math, but often I found the homework to be so incredibly boring and tedious that I was often late with it. Like, I remember in 3rd grade having 100 questions along the line of '5 > 3 - T or F?'

By the time I got to high school (and especially college) that was much less of a problem, as by then the homework was interesting enough for me to keep my attention.

Emily- I sort of feel that I was a donothing because I thought it was cooler that way so I am not sure anything would have motivated me, since I got good grades with fairly minimal effort. It might have motivated me if I got unacceptable grades, frankly.

I was sort of congested over the weekend, and now my new student worker is wearing perfume. And it is making me sneezy and making my face itch. I really wish I could figure out a polite way of telling people not to wear scent, because I am miserable.

Also, these random people at the who loaned the theatre a Vespa last year are looking for a Christopher Columbus costume to wear in a parade. Why is it that people think I have costumes coming out of my ass. We do almost exclusively modern shows or stuff with whacked out painting on it for boys that have, like, 30 inch waists, but the production manager is "sure I'll have something". Also, WTF is a Christopher Columbus Costume-- I have no iconic idea in my mind of what would constitute Columbus. Maybe pumpkin pants, armor and a ruff (not that I have any of these things!)??

They are nuts for calling that one of the worst dresses, it's very elegant.

I agree, but that is not a great (non-)color for her. Otherwise, I thought all of the "worsts" deserved to be there. I didn't agree with a few of the bests either, especially the two GA women and Eva Longoria. Also, Minnie Driver should not wear yellow. Happy to see all that color though.

At least in this case, 5 minutes' work on Friday would have saved him 15 minutes of me hovering and badgering. Plus, they're going to have to do it before they get to touch the balsa wood. So I think I've got the laziness aspect covered.

Well, I'll keep trying. I just know that punishment's not going to do it, but I have no idea what will. Perhaps my constant annoying supervision.

Also, I cannot get to those yahoo pictures at all, even from the front page. It is driving me crazy!

Of course, it's always the kids who are dead certain they're never going to work in an office -- they're too smart and creative, you see. They'll probably own their own companies, or be freelance consultants, or fix cars.
