Could just be a hoax, though. I fake some headaches, everyone gets used to poor helpless Spike. Then one day, no warning, I snap a spine, bend a head back, drain 'em dry. Brilliant.

Yeah, the grease was a bit much. Interesting to see the grey at his temples, though

And now I am at the end of Castle and seriously- what a good little show! Holy HSQ! It seems like a little episodic procedural crowd-pleaser, but man, that was seriously arc-driven and good. And Ryan and Esposito!!!!!

I was gonna say, you don't even know the half of it, but now you do. And, yeah, for a "light weight" show, they definitely have brought the gravitas.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

Isn't it a bit disappointing if that was the hookup, offscreen, almost X-Files retro style?

I don't think Bones is subtle enough for that to have been the hookup.

Guess I was wrong. Huh.

Danger is my middle name, only I spell it R. u. t. h. - Tina Belcher.

I'm wondering how far along she can be, but I knew they'd have to come up with something to explain the actress' pregnancy.

The thing is, I liked Castle when it was a "light weight", witty little show with odd crimes and odder characters. I liked having the station being conflict-light and relatively tragic-back-story free. The whole premise of a mystery writer tagging along for years with a bunch of detectives is inherently ludicrous, and a new captain pretty much has to tell Castle to get out and stay out. And I really liked Castle and Montgomery sharing tales of fatherhood. It made them all seem more human, not like the kind of angsty, soap-opera-driven people on most of the other police shows.

But that's why there are DVDs and the ability to fast-forward--or simply skip. There's enough angst in my life.

Well, last week Angela said something about how far away her due date was and this week she was just past the due date. That difference would be how far along Brennan is.

I might not have doubted the offscreen hookup had I known last week that Deschanel was pregnant.

I still call foul on the Bones pregnancy, but there you go. If they backfill the when of it happening, I may be OK with it, but if they just leave it a mystery, I'm gonna be pissed.

But that's why there are DVDs and the ability to fast-forward--or simply skip. There's enough angst in my life.

So, not your beautiful show anymore? That's cool.

Personally, I like that they have put a little gravitas in Castle's existence if he's going to be working with real detectives. But i've liked the deepening gravitas because it has been coming gradually the whole run of the show. This wasn't that big a surprise from that perspective.

I am curious if they can get back to the lighter edge they used to have, though. So I may share that concern with you. I don't want Castle to turn into a huge ongoing angst-fest.
