Hey, I've been in a firefight before! Well, I was in a fire. Actually, I was fired from a fry-cook opportunity. I can handle myself.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

I love their nick for Clive. Rrrrowr.

Ah, but not so handy for some of us. Then again, I'd put Owen more in F category than the M. Not C, never C.

It looks to me like Swinton is in heels and Clooney is bending his knees. But I bet she's taller than him, at least in those shoes.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

He's crouching and lifting her up.

Oh, with his black pants I didn't notice that detail.

"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

He's crouching and lifting her up.

And according to IMDb, Tilda Swinton is 5'10" or 5'11" and it looks like she's wearing some killer heels.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

This is pretty much looking like expulsion on account of gayness...or, you know, another sex scandal witchhunt.

The former--bad. The latter? Live by the sword of morality, then I damned well want to see people decapitated with it should events require.

Though I'd be simply pleased if he was shamed out--not for being gay, but for being gay and lying about it, or being gay and lying and legislating against it.

What plea, Brenda? I only saw the "I thought if I pled guilty it'd go away" angle.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

being gay and lying and legislating against it.

This.

Yeah. Plus for the Republican party to be consistent with their values, they should either force him out or change their position and say there's nothing wrong with being gay.

Of course, the latter would be better, but I can't see that happening right away. But maybe it will make some social conservatives think....

Ann, that's a ferret.

being gay and lying and legislating against it

As opposed to David Vitter, who paid for his (straight) sex.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

The former--bad. The latter? Live by the sword of morality, then I damned well want to see people decapitated with it should events require.

Sure, it's consistent for the Republicans. I don't care whether the Republicans are consistent. I think it poses a problem for anyone who held that a witchhunt designed to out Clinton's sexual indiscretions was wrong, or that his several instances of sexual misconduct was unrelated to his fitness for office. I personally can't have it both ways.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Basically what he said was that he didn't do anything wrong, but he couldn't fight the charges because it would cause publicity. Which is more or less correct, really. I can see how someone could rationally think along those lines and plead to something they didn't actually do. (With the caveat that where he claims he didn't *do anything*, I'd say he didn't do anything illegal, and those two positions are miles apart.)

And yeah, this is the world you spent your career defending - welcome to it.

I'd say he didn't do anything illegal

If you let him foot-tap, pretty soon everyone will! It'll be anarchy!
