Tech support nightmares:
"Hi, we cobbled together an intricate system that explicitly does what your software is not designed to do, and our entire corporate structure is based on this system remaining intact. We'd like to upgrade to the newest version of your software, but it's not recognizing our intricate system. What did you do wrong with your new software?"
"Actually, what you set up is not supported by our software. We're amazed you got it to work. The new version is going to move things all around on you if you go through the standard upgrade."
"Oh . . . yes, we noticed everything getting moved around, we need you to undo that and put it back the way it was and upgrade us properly."
"Upgrading you properly means completely redesigning your network. WE don't support what you did."
"That's unacceptable." (amazing how they think that phrase is so powerful). "We want it put back and upgraded the way we want."
"We don't support that."
"That's unacceptable."
Yeah, she's a total mess. She's the UK singing Lohan-equivalent.
But Winehouse is talented. I mean, I'm not on board with her offstage life but DAMN is she good.
I just came back from sushi with a Japanese colleague. While there he pointed out a Japanese newspaper (as in the country, not just the language) and guess what was the big front story, with a huge 72 pt headline? Lohan's mugshot. THAT IS RIDICULOUS. She hasn't made a good movie since Mean Girls!
But Winehouse is talented.
So is Lohan!! I swear she could still come back to be a Good Actress.
connie, please tell us the phone call ended when you put your hand through the receiver and strangled the caller long-distance.
Even if you didn't, please tell us you did anyway.
I swear she could still come back to be a Good Actress.
Who would hire her at this point? Is she even insurable?
Not that she's as talented as he is, but people still hire Robert Downey Jr.
ectoplasmosis is my new favorite blog.
I like it, but I have to get past my knee-jerk eye-rolling, because I've known one of the contributors since she was 14, and spent a couple of years wanting to lock her in a box with no digital camera and no internet. (She was suffering from a pretty fierce case of
"I Am An Interweb Model!!1"
for a while, and it got tiresome.)
But in her defense, she's grown up into a pretty interesting person. But she's the #1 example of why I am grateful that LJ was not around when I was in my late teens/early 20s.
Re: Lohan/Downey: Lohan has talent, but she's no Winehouse. Rachel McAdams could do everything that Lohan could do, while remaining quietly in Toronto, not chasing people down in her car, and dating the other best Canadian Hollywood star her age.
Downey gets work but no one's insuring him to star in a movie. Lohan might be insurable in a replaceable role, but not carrying a movie.
Who would hire her at this point? Is she even insurable?
She's got a new movie coming out this weekend.
mommy people, noah ate half of what i'm supposed to feed him, and i've been trying to burp him, but he instead farted and passed out.
gas is gas, right?
