Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Done, if we were waiting on a me.

Back tattoos of the mother is that you are absolutely right - Ame

Thanks to the conversation in Bitches, I want to expand the b.org address list to include emergency contact information. Jen P, Amy and I have been maintainers of the address list and it would be easy to add emergency contact information as people supply it. We are looking to add another maintainer or two - I have extended an invitation to Ginger since she expressed interest in Bitches.

I'm mainly posting it here before posting an announcement in Press to see if there are any issues. My thoughts would be to add "emergency phone" and "emergency contact name". This information would be used when attempts, in board, to contact a person have failed. Anyone who doesn't want to add their address and only wants to provide emergency information is fine. As would be vice versa.

Thoughts?

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I like it - obviously people who aren't comfortable sharing that info wouldn't have to, but it would be nice if we had reliable ways of getting in touch with people when they go dark unexpectedly.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

I concur with Jessica. I think it's a good idea for people that want to opt in. We are a community and for a lot of us this is the place where you'd be missed first.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

We'd also need contact info for the Emergency Contact and some people might want to leave some brief guidance such as "has key" or "This is a co-worker. Don't say anything incriminating." I was also thinking it would be nice to have a mechanism to do a roll call, so we could see who's still around after the rapture (or something catastrophic).

Would it be possible to have a contact info form like the E-mail Admins form or an e-mail address that goes to all the list maintainers?

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I like that it is opt in and not widely available. Yes, we want to be able to check on people we're concerned about but I'd be wary if it were just halfway easily obtained information. Or even went to a biggish list of people. I have trust issues, I know.

In my mind, an effort would need to be made in thread first. There are enough of us who know others of us, that we can usually make a connection without having to go to an emergency contact.

Since we're scattered across the globe, we should make sure that the emergency contact phone number is attached to a time zone, just for courtesy's sake!
