um ... isn't that the kind of date that calls for something black and white, depressing, with subtitles?
Buffista Movies 6: lies and videotape
A place to talk about movies--old and new, good and bad, high art and high cheese. It's the place to place your kittens on the award winners, gossip about upcoming fims and discuss DVD releases and extras. Spoiler policy: White font all plot-related discussion until a movie's been in wide release two weeks, and keep the major HSQ in white font until two weeks after the video/DVD release.
Hell no. Make it even more depressing?
Go see an Owen Wilson "I'm a dumb schmuck" film. Even if you don't find it funny, you don't have to pay attention to it.
The Batman Begins fight scenes (except for the one among the rows of warriors) were by far the weakest point of the movie for me. Weaker than TomKat, even. Like you, MM, I wanted more detail. But I couldn't stitch stuff together and my first suspicion when that happens is crap stuntwork, undeserved or no.
Is there any other info about the movie out there? The trailer looks interesting.
It's shrouded in secrecy, but viral marketing has begun:

It's basically The Blair Godzilla Project. A giant-monster movie done in the home-video style (but with added CGI, obviously). Though there are rumors that Cthulhu is involved, based on that last site.
It's produced by J.J. Abrams and written by Drew Goddard. Directed by Matt Reeves, who did a lot of work on Felicity.

Hi Joe!

I'd say most of our dates called for something black and white, depressing, with subtitles. Perhaps this is why we are no longer together.
I loved the Bourne chase outside Guard du Nord because I could fantasize about him running down the bag lady that accosted us on our trip to Paris.
But honestly, I loved both films and am looking forward to the next one.
I loved the Bourne chase outside Gare du Nord because I could fantasize about him running down the bag lady that accosted us on our trip to Paris.
I love that scene because it reminded me of Diva.
We had the Cloverfield trailer before Transformers. Completely blanked it from my mind, though. I think the city destruction scenes from the latter overlaid it.
Now, if we're talking irritating filming styles then unsteadicam is right up there on the list for me.
