"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

Starsky & Hutch had ZebraCon going back to 1979.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

Yeah, and I went to four Nikita cons, so.

Every now and then, I think I might actually be a little odd.

They're non-genre?

Meaning, not science fiction or fantasy.

eta I don't wanna have the genre/non-genre discussion! I'm just reporting what was stated, rather proudly, at the con, regardless of whether they were right.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

LFN isn't a genre show, is it? That's my one con, right there. I mean, for values of "genre" that equal SFF. If "genre" equals fannish, then they are, especially...if they have a con.

I'm obviously biased on the John Rogers front, but I've been a fan of his almost as long as I've been a friend. He's good people, and has apologised for both Catwoman and The Core.

So come, my friends, be not afraid/We are so lightly here/It is in love that we are made; In love we disappear

Meaning, not science fiction or fantasy.

Yeah, but Leverage is BOTH! It just doesn't know it. (I got Paul to stop rolling his eyes by saying, "Look, just pretend they are all superheroes and set your disbelief sensors on "Comic book."")

I liked The Core ! I apologize for nothing. I didn't even see Catwoman, so I can say nothing. I can snicker, but I can't say anything. (He was extraordinarily nice, and of course funny. Everyone loved him. He was onstage with Mark Sheppard a couple times, and they should take that show on the road.)

Heh. Yeah, that's the truth. I keep looking at the scene where Gina and Parker escape Sterling by leaping off the roof, and there's just no way to make that even remotely possible. Unless Parker can fly.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I wouldn't have called LFN genre, but it was fannish. And Leverage definitely is too. I'm actually quite curious about what makes a show that isn't scifi/fantasy cross over into fannish. Because there are some clear ones, and ones that were totally expected. And yet - what is that line? (Aside from Mark Sheppard.)

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

Unless Parker can fly.

I'd totally buy it.

"What would it take to get your daughter to stop tweeting about this?"

Correct or not, that is certainly my impression as well. I was really surprised to see them doing one. I had no idea tradition went back as far as Starsky and Hutch so I was thinking they were doing a first. It just seems like there is a line that isn't crossed like, for the most part, US actors not doing commercials that air in the US but doing ones that air in Japan.

Unless Parker can fly.

This would explain in The Wedding Job why she dove off the balcony and told CK's character (sorry, don't know them all by name yet) that she didn't know he would be there to break the fall. She didn't look like she was planning on landing in a tuck and roll position.
