I'm ditching my Dish satellite tv, and I'm going without cable to save some money. Seems all my tv watching needs can be handled with a Roku and a really good antenna. Since I'm not a Nielsen family, does it do Leverage any good for me to get cable to watch it? Or would I be supporting it as much as I could do anyway by watching it on Netflix and buying the DVDs? I always feel like my watching Live matters, but maybe it doesn't.

To be determined... (but it's definitely [NAFDA])
I think you can get counted if you watch via DVR, but other than that, no. Netflix and DVDs are better ways to be counted.
The episodes come up on Netflix within about two days of airing. John Rogers is serious about his alternate media distribution channels.
Well, the man just made a fan of me that is for certain.
I wouldn't have needed the dvds but the drunken commentary sounds fun. I think it may have been one of you guys that went to a con. Are they the only non sci fi show that also does cons? Not that I'm going to any, I just admire them for doing it.
I went to the con. It was the first Leverage Con, but I'm sure not the only. According to them, they are the only non-genre show that ever had a con specifically devoted to their show. They expected about 150 people. They got, last I heard, around 500, including the day-trippers. They were all gobsmacked. Dean Devlin was glowing from within. Though he may do that all the time. He might be an enlightened soul, I don't know. He has a Buddha-like expression of calm about him. Apparently he has a magical knack for getting people to just *give* them things. Like the tanker in the last episode. "You want us to film here." "Yes, we want you to film here!" "You want to let us film for free." "We want to let you film for free!"
According to them, they are the only non-genre show that ever had a con specifically devoted to their show.
Uh...
So, no, then?
Well, what kind of con? Was it a Creation con?
They're non-genre?
No, it wasn't a Creation con. I don't know how to answer "what kind of con", I'm afraid. The guy running it said he'd run "many" conventions before, and is based in Germany. I've no idea who he is, except that his name is Marc. I think it was him and a bunch of local volunteers. I'm suspicious of what cons he's actually run, because they totally didn't seem to know how to handle the amount of people they dealing with. It was a great con, just kinda badly handled on certain aspects. (Once registration tops 250, you ought to know it's not going to be a "small, intimate party for our supporters" anymore. IJS.)
Oooh, can we decide what shows are "genre" and which aren't again? I like that having that discussion way better when it doesn't involve going to Lightbulbs. Unless it'll get all messy here. Then, no.
