i've finished season one of LoM and have watched episode 1 of season two, but i'm almost afraid to go any further because of the reactions i've seen about the finale of season two. i hate long waits between shows. when does season three start? is there a date yet?
John Simm has climbed his way to the top of my very favorite british actors list.

It's great, honestly.
I don't think there are plans for a S3, so I wouldn't wait. Consume, consume!
In my head, guff is something you give a person--backtalk, truculence, that sort of stuff.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking of. I guess the connotation doesn't particularly work in the setting I was using.

There is no season three, although I heard someone say they were considering doing a "sequel" in the '80s.

I like 'im. And now I understand the excitement about the
Doctor Who casting spoiler.
There are only 2 seasons of LoM. The creators felt they could only sustain the show for a limited amount of time and so decided only to do 2 seasons.
P-C's right there is talk of a spin off, although I'm not sure when it's going to be set, I heard it would be based around Gene.
I heard that it's going to be set in the
'80s.
Umm, here is an article about it - which I haven't read because I still have two episodes of season 2 of LoM to watch.
So cannot speak to the spoileriness of the piece.
I'd say it's pretty spoilery, so avoid it until you've seen the end.
So cannot speak to the spoileriness of the piece.
Spoilery enough that I wouldn't read it unless you've seen the last episode of S2.
and sometimes wonder why they couldn't tell these stories in present day.
A major theme of the show, I think, is how
police techniques have changed in the last 24 years.

OMG! really?! i so can't handle the way the british do television. there's never enough (time)!
'spose i'll finish up season two asap then.
isn't there another Brit show with John Simm that's fairly recent? anyone seen it? worth *ahem*-ing?

It is hard to get used to, especially when it's fabulous and you just want more, but with LoM, I think it would have been hard to sustain the concept indefinitely. Which brings us back to skepticism about the American version. Last I'd heard, they'd only cast the "Annie" character. So much is going to depend on the Sam and Gene casting.
