"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

It's a series! Hee.

Poor tired boy. He's been asleep all day. I'm worried he's going to wake up at like 2, ready to go. I think I'll sleep on the couch to make sure I don't disturb him. He's worn out enough he may just sleep through.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Hey, we're not down yet, huh?

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I feel naughty, posting when the board is supposed to be down.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I am beat, too. But on the plus side, because it was so hot, and the forecast is hot this week and we're going to be really busy, I just cooked two meals (in addition to tonight's dinner) so we can be microwave only for a good part of the week. And I cleaned out the fridge, so if I finish the dishes once the baking is done, I can have most of the hot-usage stuff done. I'll still need to launder, but if I buy a shower clothesline, I can just air dry.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Great. There was no upgrade, huh? I'd check my email, but MY PC IS FUCKING DOWN. So I can't recheck the email with the upgrade times, since the motherboard fails to recognise any drives.

God, shit sucks and blows.

::sigh::

Seem to have rescued the PC. Will check email later. I'd give points back to today, but it's already tomorrow.

VORNADO QUESTION: Those of you that have one, which model did you get? I'm trying to work out if I should get one for the living/dining area (and by extension kitchen) and one for my bedroom. They look pretty easy to move around, but that doesn't mean I should.

Oh, and how quiet is the one you got? I need to sleep with them on, and since they don't seem to have a timer, hush is good.

All sorrows can be borne if you put them into a story. Tell me a story.

ita, I don't have a Vornado, but I do have a small oscillating tower fan with 3 speeds and a timer. I don't know if this is the exact model, but it looks close. I find the low setting to be pretty quiet.

eta: This one has a quiet mode.

'we all walk this earth feeling we are frauds. The trick is to be grateful and hope the caper doesn't end any time soon"

Today I drive most of the way to Providence to take part in a "Financial Concerns During Transition" workshop offered by the career counseling service that's part of my severance package. I figure it will be worth the gas, at least, and maybe I can detour by IKEA on the way home, since I need ever MORE boxes to put stuff away in....
