Remember that the frontier of the Rebellion is everywhere. And even the smallest act of insurrection pushes our lines forward.

In 1989-1990, I lived above a family with a teenaged girl that would play "Sweet Child o' Mine" on full blast, over and over again. It made it a little hard to avoid.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

Heroin.

Where/when did the term "Mr. Brownstone" come to mean that? I've always thought it dates back to the Velvet Underground's referencing buying heroin in a brownstone in "I'm Waiting for My Man" but I have absolutely no evidence for that.

I don't know - are there a lot of brownstones in Harlem? 'Cuz that's where people used to meet up with their dealers.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Is now when I confess to my mad crush on Sebastian Bach?

Girl, I went to my high school's orientation and there was a senior boy onstage with his band who looked just. like. Sebastian Bach with whassisface from Warrant's eyes. That was some good salesmanship right there.

I know what Mr. Brownstone is about now, but back in the day we had some wild theories-not knowing much about heroin back then.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

I don't know - are there a lot of brownstones in Harlem?

There are, but also in many other parts oof neighborhood-y NYC.

Jesse, msbelle, remember in some bar in NY when it came on and we recited and JD, calling himself a Prince fan, DIDN'T KNOW IT VERBATIM???

@@ Good times, good times.

I do love it when we have the hair band conversation.

though it's been a while now, I can still feel so much pain... like a knife that cuts you the wound heals, but the scar, that scar remaaaiiins!

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today to enter into a thing called life. Electric word life, and it means forever & that's a mighty long time. So I'm here 2 tell U--there's something else--the afterworld. A world of never-ending happiness, where U can always see the sun, day or night. So when U call up that shrink in Beverly Hills--U know the one--Dr. Everything'llBeAlright--instead of asking how much of your mind is left babe, ask him how much of your time. 'Cause in this life, things are much harder than in the afterworld. 'Cause in this life, you're on your own.

And then the elevator is Satan. Ah, good times indeed.

I love how at the 'Vine everyone, I mean everyone from the gay boys to the businessmen to the trendy girls and the hipster boys, will stop what they're doing so they can join in the intro to Let's Go Crazy.

Now tagless for your comfort.

Ratt & Poison are touring together again and coming to town. DH went to see them in 1989--his father said, "Rat Poison? What kind of a band name is that?"

Every Rose Has Its Thorn is especially fond in my high school memories because Rose was my last name. I thought the song was written just for me and my asshole boyfriend.

but I always think of this when I think of slips, and not much is hotter than that.

Nobody can pull off a slip like Liz. I also like this one, in particular.

I think I won tickets off the radio to that tour!

Mmm. If anyone bumps into bigger pictures of La Liz in La Lingerie, please send it my way. I'd love to put that up on provocateuse.
