"You can't put a price on the joy of not giving a shit." -Zenkitty

I dread the day I feel I "need" a cell phone.

It took years to convince me of its necessity, but after car accidents, getting lost, getting bumped from flights, running late, herding cats, medical emergencies, coordinating weddings, and text-messaging bitchy notes from the tarmac, I won't go farther than down the street for beer without my cell phone.

Ann, that's a ferret.

We have all 3, and I'd give up the cell phone soonest. I rarely use it except to coordinate the commute with Hubs. And we have phones in our offices -- and in a real pinch, there are pay phones in the Metro.

Then -- maybe the dishwasher. It'd be an excuse to play in water, and the 2 of us don't use a ton of dishes.

You can take the TiVo when you can pry it from my cold, dead fingers. I'm too hooked on watching TV around my schedule instead of the broadcasters'.

It's five thousand for kissing, ten thousand for snuggling... End of list.

For a long time after we moved into this apartment without a dishwasher, I couldn't even cook for myself because washing dishes was such a chore. Now it's not such a big deal-- I don't know what happened, I think I just changed things so that the tools were easier to use or something. I washed dishes four times on Sunday from cooking breakfast and dinner. But still fantasizing about a fullsize kitchen and a dishwasher the whole time.

ETA: the iPod made a big difference to the pain of dish washing, too.

Since we don't have a TiVo I'd give that up first. We don't use our cell phone much so I'd give that up pretty easily. It would be hard to give up the dishwasher with two kids and an adult home all day generating dishes to wash. On a weekend day when I do a fair amount of cooking I can end up with three dishwasher loads in one day. On a week day, it's almost normal for me to do a full dishwasher load and hand wash the overflow.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

DVR, cell phone, dishwasher. Guess which one I regret most?

We have no dishwasher. Hell, we don't have a garbage disposal. And keep in mind I pump breastmilk 10 times a day, whivch means I wash and sterilize pump parts very very often. which means all the dishes get washed all day.

I need a freaking vacation from my world. It might be seasonal change madness, which I always get, it might be the things that have been in my head.

From yesterday:

A gunshot broke the silence at Provo's library and scared patrons Monday. The woman who fired the shot told those in the library she was having a bad day.

They're not sure if they're going to put her in jail. They're trying to decide if she's mentally disturbed or "just" drunk or what. Note that no one is too incensed that she was packing a gun in a public library. One of the commenters is saying "well, if more people were allowed to carry guns, someone would have been in a position to deal with her."

These are my neighbors! That is my library! I'm sick of these people!

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

I have no DVR (hell, I don't have cable TV), and no dishwasher. I will never ever give up my cell phone.

I do own a gun. But I'd rather just snarl at them sullenly. Or not see them at all.

I once shot a book in Provo just to see it....um...become holey.
